He may do a lot of scenery-chewing and hammy acting these days, but it wasn't that long ago when Nicholas Cage really was a great thespian. Don't judge him based solely on his blockbusters, check out his smaller, more critically-acclaimed flicks like Leaving Las Vegas (which earned him his Oscar), Raising Arizona (directed by the Coen brothers, who also made Fargo, No Country For Old Men, The Big Lebowski...), and the aforementioned Adaptation.tehroc said:Nick Cage is a fucking horrible actor, Keanu Reeves has more depth and that's not meant as a compliment. He is the #1 reason I will not watch the first Ghost Rider nor many of his other movies.SteelStallion said:Hey, since when is Nicholas Cage a bad actor? Sure, he made a few poor choices in his roles, but he's far from a bad actor.
Ever seen Adaptation? Lord Of War? Hell, he did great in Kick Ass too. The Ghost Rider movie was just warped and terribly paced in general, no actor would've saved it.
I thought he was fine in Ghost Rider. He was easily the second-best actor in the film, after Sam Elliott (in a stellar reprisal of his role in The Big Lebowski). It's not his fault that the rest of the movie was cheesy and laden with bad special effects. Still, compared to Punisher: War Zone it was a masterpiece.coldalarm said:To be brutally honest, I had no problems with Cage's performance in Ghost Rider.
To answer your questions.BlueHighwind said:Um... Am I allowed to ask why they're doing this? Really what's the point? Did anybody actually like the first "Ghost Rider" movie? Does anybody even remember the first "Ghost Rider" movie? I don't even remember if I saw it or not.
Much fun as that would be, I kinda like Cage in the role. Hopefully a better script will result in a better overall movie. Admit though the thought of Jensen in all that leather....... yum. Make a girl drool why don't you.Crayzor said:Get rid of Cage and replace him with Jensen Ackles. He would make a great Ghost Rider.
