Similar to the party game of Werewolf, Murderer or Mafia, the objective is to find the Killer and execute him or her to prevent them from continuing their murderous rampage. The Game Master of the next round is whoever the Killer is in the current one. For new players, please join the Serial Killer usergroup and turn news notifications on to see announcements easier and be up-to-date with what's going on.

Part 1 - Preparation:

Before the game starts, everyone who wants to join will need to send a PM to the Game Master (GM) of the current round. The message doesn't have to include anything specific unless stated by the GM, but it should be obvious you are looking to join the game.

Part 2 - Dishing out the roles:

The Killer role is randomly determined first. The method is decided by the GM, whether it's using a list randomiser on a website or pulling names out of a hat. After a player is aware of their role as a Killer, they then choose another player(s) to help them as a Lawyer/Sleeper Agent. Once this has been done all the other roles are then randomly appointed, once again using whatever method the GM would like to use. More details on roles in the "Roles of the Game" section.

Part 3 - Murder Phase:

A round is made of multiple cycles. It begins with the Killer choosing who they want to murder. The Killer, Medic, Spy, and Lawyer roles activate durring this phase. Once a valid murder target has been selected an announcement will be made that someone has been murdered and the Spy and Lawyer role abilities will resolve.

Soon after the now deceased player will post in the thread detailing their death and mention if they had a role or not. Another announcement will be made on who died and voting for who everyone thinks committed the murder will begin.

Part 4 - Voting Phase:

All living players may vote by sending a PM indicating their target to the current GM. All participants have TWO DAYS to cast their votes. Multiple PMs can be sent as long as the two day time limit hasn't been reached but only the last sent vote will be tallied. If votes do not reach 65% in participation, the Killer will be spared, and a random player who didn't vote will be killed off instead.

The Arbiter, Priest, and Trickster abilities are activated during this phase.

Once voting is complete yet another announcement is made and the votes will be tallied. The person with the highest number of votes will be PMed that they have been executed and are expected to write a death post. Arbiter and Priest roles resolve at this time. If the Killer was executed the round ends. If the Killer is execute the current round ends. If not...

Part 5 - Rinse and Repeat:

After the execution death post, an announcement is made for the next cycle to begin and the Killer is able to murder another player, and so on. If the Killer is a new player who does not feel ready to be GM in the following round, or will not have the time to act as GM in the near future, he should feel free to opt out of becoming the GM. In this case, a volunteer will take their place.

There are up to nine roles in this round of Serial Killer: the Killer
, the Medic
, the Spy
, the Arbiter
, the Priest
, the Lawyer
, the Trickster
, and the Doppelganger
/Slepper Agent

[HEADING=3]The Killer[/HEADING]
This is the primary focus of the game. The Killer PMs the GM who they wish to kill at the beginning of each cycle. He or she is still allowed to vote in executions and they can also be 'saved' by the Medic. Eliminating the Killer by execution or the use of the Arbiter ends the round.
[HEADING=3]The Medic[/HEADING]
The Medic has the power to save players from the Killer and gets a certain number of saves depending on the number of players in total.

>24 players = Five saves
20-24 players = Four saves
15-19 players = Three saves
10-14 players = Two saves
<10 players = One save

At the beginning of each cycle the Medic chooses who they wish to save by PMing a list of the appropriate usernames to the GM. They cannot save the same person twice in a row nor can they target themselves.

When someone is saved by the Medic, a public announcement will be made that this has happened. The identity and any role the saved person had will be shared with the Medic.
[HEADING=3]The Spy[/HEADING]
The Spy is allowed to PM the GM up to three "yes or no" questions about the Killer's profile throughout the course of the game to attempt to determine their identity.

Example: "Does the Killer have a letter 'a' in their username?"
IF YES: The GM replies with a list of everyone who does have a letter 'a' in their username.
IF NO: The GM replies with a list of everyone who does not have a letter 'a' in their username.

A question is answered immediately after someone has been murdered as long as the Spy is not the one murdered.
The Spy is free to distribute the information however they wish - be it in full view of the public, in private, or otherwise until they are murdered or executed. Upon the GM messaging the Spy that they have been murdered or executed they can no longer inform any players of the questions asked, and their answers or who they have narrowed the possible suspects down to. This is extended to revealing the gathered information in the Spy's death post. If the Spy divulges any information in death, either true, untrue, or to confirm will result in the Killer getting two free kills, and each time there after will have as escalated punishment.

This ability can only be used every other cycle.
[HEADING=3]

The Arbiter
[/HEADING]
This role has the power to instantly execute one other player without the need of a vote. The Arbiter may decide during the voting phase to include a name of someone they would like executed along with their vote. If after tallying votes both the Arbiter and the chosen target are alive, the Arbiter's ability is activated - the Arbiter sacrifices themselves to immediately execute their chosen target. If either the Arbiter or their target are not alive by the end of tallying votes this ability is not activated. People executed by the Arbiter are ineligible for revival by the Priest.

An arbiter who uses their ability and whoever is killed by it do not have to write a death post (although they are still encouraged to). This ability must be used before the seventh cycle of the game.
[HEADING=3]The Priest[/HEADING]
The Priest has the power to sacrifice themselves to resurrect someone who was murdered in a previous cycle. Those that have been executed are ineligible for revival by the Priest. When someone is resurrected everyone in the round becomes aware of any role that the resurrected player may have.

To activate their ability they may decide during the voting phase to include a name of someone they would like revived along with their vote. If after tallying votes the Priest is still alive, the Priest's ability is activated - the Priest sacrifices themselves to immediately revive their chosen target. If the Priest is not alive by the end of tallying votes this ability is not activated. This revived person is immune to being murdered in the cycle immediately following their revival.

A Priest who uses their ability does not have to write a death post (although they are still encouraged to). Whoever is revived by it does not have to write a second deathpost.
[HEADING=3]The Lawyer[/HEADING]
The Lawyer is the Killer's right-hand man/woman and its their job to gather intel for their murderous employer. Unlikely most roles the Lawyer is chosen by the Killer before the other roles are assigned. The identity of the Killer will only be revealed after the player accepts the role, otherwise the Killer must choose another player.

The Lawyer may ask the GM whether or not any individual has a role (yes or no question, without specifics). The question can be asked every cycle (5 times total), and if the Lawyer is killed then any information gained from the GM cannot be shared publicly, or privately if it hasn't been shared already. Sharing information in the death post is not allowed. Breaking of this rule will result in another role getting two free picks at an execution without the need of a vote. As with the Spy further breaking of this rule will result in escalated punishment.

This ability does not have to be used every cycle and entirely controlled by the Lawyer, not Killer.
[HEADING=3]The Trickster[/HEADING]
Dying isn't much fun but the Trickster role allows then those no longer among the living to still cause mayhem. A player is awarded this role upon their death regardless of what caused it or any previous roles they may have had. If a player is revived they lose this role until they die again.

Once per game, during the voting phase a Trickster may designate two living players - one they would like to deduct a vote from and one they'd like to add a vote to. If their target for deduction has no votes this ability fails to activate and the Trickster is free to attempt to use this ability during another cycle.

To compensate for getting killed round one, the first person to be murdered gets the alternative role of α-Trickster and ability to swap the vote tally between two targets once per game. This ability can be used regardless of the tally total of either player. If a player is revived and killed again they receive a standard Trickster role upon their second death.

If multiple Tricksters would reduce a player's tally to 0 the abilities will activate in the order of when the Trickster roles were obtained. When a target of any Trickster is executed the execution announcement will indicate a Trickster was involved but not which Trickster or how many.
At the beginning of the round any number of the following roles may be assigned. Only the Killer is told by the GM which if any of the optional roles will be active this round.
[HEADING=3]The Doppelganger[/HEADING]
The role of the dopelganger is to misdirect and confuse the Spy from locating the Killer. The Doppelganger is aligned with the Killer but unlike the Lawyer they are assigned by the GM like other roles. As long as the Doppelganger is alive the GM replies to any answered Spy questions as if the Doppelganger was also the Killer.

Example:

If the Spy asked the question "Is the Killer an American?" and the Killer was American and the Doppelganger was British the GM would provide a list of both Americans and non-Americans. If the same question was asked and both the Killer and Doppelganger were Americans, the GM would provide a list of only Americans.
[HEADING=3]The Sleeper Agent[/HEADING]
The Sleeper Agent role is meant to confuse and misdirect the survivors. The Sleeper Agent is chosen by the Killer in the same way as the Lawyer however whoever receives the Sleeper Agent role is not made aware of their role until their death. The Killer and/or Lawyer may approach the Sleeper Agent to side with them but the Sleeper Agent is under no obligation to join them.

If the player is murdered by the Killer at any point, the Killer may include with his killing PM a role they would like the Sleeper Agent to mimic. While informing the player of their death, the GM also tells them they were the Sleeper Agent and the role which they are to mimic. The player's death post must reveal them as the chosen role and all GM announcements will indicate they were the chosen role. Their true role as a Sleeper Agent will only be revealed at the end of the entire round.

If the Sleeper Agent is killed in any other way (either by execution or the Arbiter ability) the GM reveals to the player they were a Sleeper Agent. The player's death post and GM announcements indicate the player was the Sleeper Agent.

If the Sleeper Agent is ever revived and killed again (either by execution or being murdered) the role revealed upon their first death is maintained upon their second death.

After the Killer PMs the GM on who their victim is for the current cycle or once voting has been decided, the GM messages who will die. Once this has been done, the player (murdered or executed) has 48 hours to post their death or recruit someone else to write it in the case of bad Internet, a family emergency or another legitimate reason.

An amazing piece of literature is not necessary, but some level of effort is expect in your death post.

Dead players are still able to interact with others the same way when alive. They can still chat, give their own suspicions and such but are not allowed to provide any evidence. A dead Spy, Lawyer, or Medic should refrain from sharing additional information obtained from their role while alive even to other dead players. Dying awards a player the Trickster role and allows them to continue to influence the executions each round.

At the end of the round depending on the GM and the amount of entries, there may also be a Death Post award highlighting those deaths that the participants enjoyed the most. The GM also gets to choose one themselves.

Anyone can leave the game at any point for whatever reason. If the Killer forfeits, this is will immediately end the round. If a player with a role leaves, their role will pass on to a random alive player (their role's availability remains the same). None of this counts as a murder nor execution so the round essentially carries on as normal. A player who does this does not have to write a death post but can if they want to. The GM can end the game whenever they wish also.

When a player fails to vote within the full 48 hour voting time in 3 cycles in a row, said player will be kicked from the game. If they had a role, it will be passed on to a random, alive player. This also does not count as an execution or murder.

Spreading a screencap of a PM such as the GM giving a role or a message from a user mentioning they are the Killer are allowed. However, fake messages are a possibility so be wary.

-Strength in numbers! The key to survival is to keep your friends close, so creating alliances would be advised.

-Be wary of betrayal! Even though this might be contradicting the previous point, don't be surprised if the friends you kept close turned out to be enemies.

-Image alteration is a thing! When someone "proves" they are to be trusted because of a screencap they gave, think again.

-Have fun! In the end, this is just a game. Don't take dying in it personally.

[HEADING=2]Changes this Round[/HEADING]
Here's a general list of changes for this particular round some of them are quite major. The rules of the game should be updated to reflect this modification but here's the short version:

-Repurposed the Trickster role allowing those who are dead to continue to influence votes. See "Roles of the Game" for more details. This will signifigantly affect the game!

-Scrapped the Entwined role.

-I'll be randomly deciding to include either, both, or neither of the Doppelganger and Sleeper Agent roles. I won't be telling anyone but Killer which of these roles are active this round.

-General clarifications to when roles activate:
* The Spy and Lawyer roles have their questions answered immediately after a murder announcement.
* The Arbiter and Priest roles have their abilites activate after votes have been tallied.

-I'll be allowing any number of revotes up to the 2 day time limit. The PM with the latest time stamp will be your final vote.

6/23
-fixed a few typos in the OP. Probably still a few in there...

-clarified some of the language on the Medic and Trickster roles
* The Medic is informed who they saved and what role they have once they save someone. This is meant to act as a counter to the Sleeper Agent role and act as a general buff for the Medic.
* The Trickster can use their ability once per game. The first person to be murdered receives the variant alpha-Trickster role.

-Given how dead players might still affect the voting significantly, a dead Lawyer, Spy, or Medic should refrain from sharing information obtained from their roles while alive with other dead players.

[hr]
The world awoke to you rather suddenly.

The dull numbness that had been your entire being began to fade away replaced by a gentle warmth before collapsing altogether as the seal to your culture tube released. The ground rushed to greet you and only the instinctive outreaching of your arms prevented the sudden impact. Quickly what little strength remained in your arms gave way and you lay upon the ground - coughing up the fluid that had been your very lifeline.

It's bright. Has it always been so bright?

As your eyes adjusted to the light you look around the room. On either side are half a dozen tubes similar to the one you just left. Most are broken and covered in dust, a few looks to have been opened before your's, and one in the corner is full of a thick red fluid unlike the colorless fluid in your tank. Two incandescent lights flicker on and off from the ceiling. You slowly raise yourself up on shaky legs.

Where am I? How did I get here?

A trail of red fluid leads down a dark hallway which you hesitantly follow. Around the corner you stumble, leaning upon the wall to help support yourself, before emerging into a large brightly lit room. Standing around are others. They appear as dazed and confused as you feel. The door leading back to the hallway automatically closes behind you with a slight thud. A voice strong but distant begins to speak from an intercom on the ceiling.

Welcome, precious test subjects! We here at [redacted] Laboratories would like to thank you again for your immense contribution to SCIENCE[small][sup]TM[/sup][/small]. I'm sure you must be a bit disoriented at the moment but we'd ask you to please proceed to the next room for further processing.

At this a door on the far side of the room opened.

And please remember this is FOR SCIENCE! SCIENCE!

The reverb of a mic falling from a table fills the room for several seconds before the intercom goes silent. Around you the others have already started toward the door on the other side of the room. You take a deep breath.

Here we go again.
You follow the crowd into the second room. Inside are rows of medical chairs, about 5 rows of 10, evenly spaced and all pointed toward a large screen on the oposite side of the room. The large screen displays, "PLEASE TAKE A SEAT" in red lettering, flickering occasionally. You find a seat following the lead of those around you.

The seat feels as though it were designed to be sterile but years of negligence gives quite the opposite impression. Various tubes and apparatus whose purpose you could only wildly speculate about hang from the back. It looks as if the chair could've pivoted on its base but the layers of dust and rust covering those mechanism suggest against its continued functionality.

You take your seat, leaning back onto the slightly reclined chair, and stare at the screen on the far side of the room. Once everyone has appeared to have taken their seat a familiar voice comes from over the intercom on the ceiling.

Thank you all for your cooperation. We have a short video to explain your contribution to SCIENCE[small][sup]TM[/sup][/small].We ask for your undivided attention.

At this restraints quickly sprang from the chair, wrapping tightly around your arms and legs. Blinders extend on either side of the head rest forcing you to look forward. The screen begins to flicker rapidly before the message displayed eventually fades and replaced by something new:

War. Destruction. Chaos. No... No!

You close your eyes but the images remain - after images burnt with a faint warmth on your eyelids. You feel a sharp prick on the side of your neck. A syringe. A warmth slowly begins to spread across you radiating from the injection point. After several minutes the sensation passes and you slowly open your eyes. The restraints release.

Very well. Shall we begin?
The intercom abruptly turns on and a familiar voice echoes through the lab.

-yway.

I know but we don't need explain why they're here. They're killing each other already. Wasn't that the point?

A consistent narrative? Look I don't have time for that if -

You don't have to shout. But if I gave them an explanation now they'd know we didn't really have a good plan from the beginning. It'll be like we're covering our as -

No. I don't honestly think it's that important.

Why are you getting so angry about this? This is my experiment you're here to assist me!

A slamming sound pours from the intercom.

Don't you march out on me! I'm your senpai! Get back her-

The audio fades away as the speaker moves out of range of the microphone. The intercom remains on, filling the laboratory with an eerie buzzing noise.
@Caramel Frappe:
You decide to rest for a bit. Off from the main laboratory space there are several dormitories that looks as if they were once used to house patients. The basic layout of each room is plain - two beds, a nightstand, and a small chest at the foot of each bed. Each door locks from the outside rather than from within. Looking closely at the furniture you get the impression someone went to great lengths to make them as safe as possible. Each edge is carefully rounded. Pieces fit together seamlessly for the most part with no visible screws or nails to take them apart.

You begin to search the rooms within the dormitory. Several rooms have had their furniture completely smashed. In other odd medical apparati dusty with negligence fill the room. Still others smell so strongly of urine and formaldehyde as to be unbearable. At last you find room of reasonable condition. You gingerly press on the bed. It's firm but seems relatively clean. You notice the faint smell is disinfectant as if someone had thoroughly cleaned the room many years ago.

It'll have to do. You're exhausted. You asleep only moments after closing your eyes.

A sharp prick in your arm wakes you. The smell of urine and formaldehyde fills the room. You barely catch a glimpse of a man in an over-sized labcoat as he quickly leaves the room, leaving an empty syringe on the bed beside you.

Wait. Who are you? What did you do to me?

You stand to give chase but are surprised by how disorientated you feel. Your vision flashes to foggy white. You struggle to the door, rubbing your eyes.

Must just be tired. How long was I asleep?

As your vision returns you find yourself somewhere else entirely. The hot summer sun is beating down on you. You raise a hand to shield your eyes from its glare and notice the badge around your neck.

Anime Expo? How'd I get here? Wasn't I just in a lab? Wait is that someone selling hugs with a life-sized Miia pillow?

You quickly head for the nearby stand, scrambling for your wallet as you go.
The intercom comes back to life.

I see test subject 015 met our intern. Nice fellow. Came highly recommended but no one in the lab's seen him for a few weeks now. If anyone sees him please let us kn-

There's the sound of someone knocking on a door.

Oh that's lunch. Seafood again? I'm tired of lobster. It was great for the first few days but it's been two weeks now. Free's free though.

The sound of someone sloppily eating food fills the room.

Damn are we out of butter? Oh? This thing's still on isn't it. Shit.

Continue as you were. You're all SCIENCE[sup]TM[/sup]-ing very well.
A familiar intercom turns on.

Wait he was an actual hippo? I always just thought he was a morbidly obese gentleman. Oh the demographic data from this experiment's going to be all mess up now! Anyone else not the species I have written down here?

At this a robot shambles into the room. Its sleek white design suggests it was once an advanced piece of technology. Now the thing is held together with copious amounts of duct tape with various other electronics and battery packs strapped together in a barely coherent fashion. It approaches the center of the room and promptly drops a clipboard as well as the arm that was holding it.

It lets out a sound you can scarcely describe. If somehow a machine were to let out a cry of anguish, you imagine this is what it might sound like. Its job complete the robot falls to the ground with a final thud and lies still.

001. Incorporeal Mass waifu Don't stare directly at subject for too long. She gets embarrassed and your brain will begin to leak from your ears.
002. obese human Actually a hippopotamus!
003. Cyborg Vocal system corrupt. Communicates primarily through pre-recorded songs
004. Human I think...
005. Tricaptops Thinks he's actually a scientist! HA! HA!
006. Sperm Smells funny
007. Bubo virginianus

012. Box of Soap Pretty sure they're actually just soap.
013. Human Still alive. Despite my best efforts...
014. Human Smells like strongly of ethanol. Not actually a good pimp. I've yet to see any returns from his management of 018
015. Human Dislikes shirts. I understand. I feel the same about pants.
016. Another morbidly obese human Barely fit in culture tube. Spilled developing fluid everywhere when adding to tube.

018. Waifu Wolf Mentally unstable but potentially profitable? No profit. Disappointed.
019. Human Has a non-prime number of toes! Very odd.
The sounds of a scream echo through the lab followed quickly by the nights going out. The abrupt change in lighting leaves you disorientated momentarily as to stumble to a nearby wall to follow. You carefully begin to trace the perimeter of the room you were in until you come to an open door. Its nearly upon you before you notice it. The amorphorous Trickster blob suddenly appears in front of you - its eyes glowing with a faint purple light. One of its many soulless faces stares intently at you. After a few seconds it lets out a slightly moan and the face that was staring at you goes slack. The mass makes its way across the room ignoring you in the direction of the scream. It doesn't seem aggressive but you'll be damn if that thing didn't creep you the hell out. Its blank eyes just seem to be reminding you that soon you'll be part of it.

You brush aside the thought of the creature and proceed down the hallway. The hallway is tight barely even wide enough for two people to stand side-by-side. You can reach out and touch both walls without issue. You've been stuck in the laboratory for quite a while now but you don't remember a hallway like this. Maybe it's just too dark? Ahead you see a bit of light filtering in from a doorway. You decide to enter.

Faint moonlight from the slits of boarded up windows barely illuminate the room. Inside are several culture tubes like the one you originally emerged from. Over one of them preaches a man precariously standing upon a stack of old medical equipment to reach the top of one of the tanks. He has a mass a unruly black hair upon his head. His chin is spotted with a equally unruly beard. A over-sized labcoat hangs from his shoulders - stained with burn marks and some sort of red liquid. He extends a spoon into the tube and drinks deeply from it.

Could use more urea perhaps. What do you think?

At this the man turns and extends the spoon to someone beside him obscured from your point of view by the tube.

C'mon now just taste it. Stop being so stubborn! I'm sorry I took my frustration out on you earlier. This experiment hasn't exactly gone as planned. We got this weird amorphous blob going around eating up all the dead people now. Making my life a nightmare.

He lets out a sigh.

C'mon just taste it, won't you?

He extends the spoon toward the person yet again.

DON'T JUST IGNORE ME!

At this he throws the spoon to the ground.

What's so interesting over there anyway?

He turns and stares directly at you. Your eyes meet - his like little black marbles. He points a finger toward you.

You? What are you doing here? You're not suppose to be here!

He jumps down from the stack of equipment and begins to run across the room away from you. You give chase bit are surpised by how swift the frail man could be and before you even manage to cover a few feet he's left the room. You walk around the tube to see who he was talking to earlier.

You're even more confused than you were before.
The sound of an ancient generator turning on echoes through the laboratory. A few lights closest to the doorways lights flicker hesitantly before finally turning back on. While not enough to illuminate everything, it's enough for you to navigate reasonably through the lab again. Returning to the hallway you came from you notice now that it seems to be some sort of service passage. The automated door held closed with the power on now lies open. Inside lights line the floor to help lead service personal. A sign in red letters glows bright with the letters EXIT and an arrow indicating which direction to go.

It looks as good a lead as any. You decide the follow it. The passage is much easier to navigate with the emergency lights on but still winds its way around the faculty in a complicated labyrinth. You hear a sound from up a head and decide to investigate.

You fine yourself in a dimly lit room just off from the service passage. In the center of the room is table with several chairs and human shaped figures in them. Close to one a shadowy figure in hunched over and seems to be removing something from the humanoid closest to it. Hearing you approach the figure casts a quick glance over its shoulder toward you before darting out of the room through a passage opposite of the one you entered through.

You approach the table. Sitting at it are about half a dozen mannequins - some are complete but the majority are missing a limb or two. It looks like they might have once been used to teach aspiring medical professionals but now taken upon a new role. All of them have large animu eyes crudely drawn on them. One looks to be in particular good condition.
The robot stands up and stares at you. The drawn on blush does nothing to dissuade you - the look in its eyes - it's screaming, dead on the inside. Something within this robot is crying out, hoping to end its existence. Before you can approach it any further, the robot turns to its side and walks over to the wall. It begins to beat its head against the wall. Again and again until finally it stops and slides to the ground. It lies there silent.
This isn't going well. You gingerly look at the hand you've had pressed against your stomach. Red. The wound's not deep but it's sure bleeding a lot.

That's no good. It'll smell it.

You hurry through the cramped hallways, one hand pressed against your stomach to stop the bleeding. The sounds of a distant moan echoes through the hallway.

Damn it! It might've gotten everyone else but you'll be damn if you let it get you! You double the pace but have to stop as you stumble slightly. You look back the way you came to see a trail of red.

Have I lost that much already?

You raise yourself to your feet. Up ahead you see the white flash of a dirty labcoat as it darts out of the hallway back into the main faculty.

You muster up the last of your strength and follow the figure. You've entered the dormitories. Another glimpse of the labcoat leads you forward through the maze. At last it enters one of the dorms. You follow.

Before you stands a man. His skin is a pale tan as if he has been outside in quite a long time. His hair is a messy mass of black and his beard isn't much better. He's thin - frail - the large labcoat hangs from his shoulders. Upon seeing you in the doorway he backs away placing the bed between you and him. He quickly looks around the room searching for a way out to no avail.

You take a step into the room. The room seems to be in better condition than most. To your right there's a single bed and across from it directly in front of you is an odd piece of medical equipment you've seen before. This is the same type of chair you were in when you were shown that video. The image still makes you shudder. The copious amount of dried blood on this chair suggests it was used for more nefarious purposes.

You weren't suppose to catch me!

The man nervously runs his fingers through his hair. His eyes dart around the room again.

Why'd I'd come here? Now I'm trapped... I just wanted to visit her again - wanted to see Pillow-chan once more.

At this he lifts up the pillow on the bed. You now notice on the opposite side of the pillow a pair of crudely drawn anime eyes. He pressed the pillow close to himself.

Pillow-chan was always there for me. She was there first. I figured she'd know what to do.

He presses the pillow to his face and inhales deeply.

Always there... Just there. Watching. Just watching...

He throws the pillow back onto the bed. He begins to shout at it, seemingly having completely forgotten about you.

You just watched! Watched as they did that to me!

You notice his eyes glance over toward the chair across the room.

You just stood there and watched! Day after day! You watched!

Quicker than you could even see, a syringe appears in the man's hand and he stabs it into the pillow. Again and again he stabs the pillow, tearing it apart. At last he stops with an exhausted pant. He looks down on the pillow.

NO! WHAT HAVE I DONE! PILLOW-CHAN!

He falls to his knees. Grabbing the remains of the pillow, he begins to sob uncontrollably into them.

Pillow-chan... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry... Pillow-chan...

After a time he raises his head and wipes some of the tears away from his face with a large white sleeve. He looks at you.

It's your fault! You made me do this to Pillow-chan!

He lunches across the room toward you, the syringe suddenly in his hand again. He finds his mark, burying the needle deeply into your shoulder but not before you manage to grab the man. With one motion you throw the frail man to the ground and press your whole weight down upon him.

NO! Bad waifu! Let me go! I made you! You can't hurt me! You're my waifu! I made you! I made you! Let me go!

Even in your physical state you have no problem subduing the frail man. You finally caught him. The sick bastard that made you go through all this. You take a deep breath and begin to think what you're going to do next.

Before you have much time to even think IT approaches. Suddenly several tentacle emerge from the doorway and wrap around the man's legs. You let go of him out of shock. The tentacles begin to drag him outside of the room.

No! Please no!

Tears are streaming down his face. He clings desperately to the floor.

Please no! Don't kill me! Help! HELP!

He looks directly at you and extends a hand for you to grab.

HEL-

The tenetacle drags him just out of the doorway and into the hall. You watch as the Trickster blob begins to engulf him. You lean against wall and stare down at the pool of red beneath you.

At least it's over now. It's all over.

Your world fades to black.

Blinks a few times before shuffling towards the opened door this doesn't make sense... they said the infection was terminal. That means dead, not waking up in a lab.

Oh. Friday. Right. That all happened, didn't it? I'm never accepting an invitation for a free cruise again, especially ones that mention unusually large lobsters.

I waddle into the room, the viscous fluid still dripping from my body. I stop and keep my distance, examining the others with suspicion. This isn't the first time I've been kidnapped for an experiment, and I'm determined to make sure this isn't the last.

Ah shit, better make a good first impression.

"Hey guys, nice... tubes? Uh yeah, tubes... tubes we're having today. And the blinding white light is like, sooooooo blinding. Right guys? Right?"

Ah damn, nobody's going to invite me to their crazy science experiment party again now.

Still slightly disorientated, I turn, eyes blinking independently. I let out a loud snort, residue fluid flying from my nostrils. I speak, voice uneven and gruff

"What are you even talking about?"

"I'm just making small talk. I'm not very good at it. Or at fighting giant lobster men. I am good at eating regular lobster though. I won a contest, so they gave me a prize for a free cruise. Apparently "they" were actually highly intelligent lobster men with some vendetta against me. They called me the devourer of the young. Pretty intimidating actually."

Aaah, Lobster... the Cockroach of the Sea. Sure to outlive us and engage in a full scare war with the Land-Roaches.

Who will win? Who will lose? We'll never know.

You know you two are really killing the mood. It's like you never woke up naked in some guy's house as they laugh and talk to you through a TV screen before.

To be completely honest its more the tubes that were the surprise. These scenarios usually start in bathtubs in my experience.

The humanoid lobsters were a bit odd too.
