This happened a couple of weeks ago and I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere here so I thought I might as well. You can read all about it in his blog linked above, where there's also a PayPal where you can donate to help his family.

Anyway, just wanted to leave this here and pay my condolences. I'm not on social media much but he did work here and was part of The Escapist back in the good old days. RIP

It's one of those things: do you prefer someone dying completely unexpectedly or knowing someone will go shortly and having time to make the most of the time left
