A bush cricket's ears are on it's knees.

A chicken survived decapitation for several months.

Koalas are extremely prone to sexual harassment.

You are more likely to be killed by a coconut than a shark.

Whilst I'm on the subject, in Australia, combined deaths from shark, crocodile and snake attacks only amount to about 5 a year.

Some species of Cicada's (sp) can survive after having their heart, brains and other organs damages or even destroyed.
Also the sound it makes is the loudest, or highest of any living thing, if I remembered correctly.

Koumis (fermented mare's milk) is to Central Asia (the steppes, at least) what beer is to Europe, especially during and before the Middle Ages (a replacement for lack of or contaminated water).

Asia experiences monsoons because the Eurasian landmass is so large horizontally. If the Eurasian landmass stretched north/south instead of east/west it would not have monsoons.

When it is around -40 to -50 F you can take a cup of boiling water and toss it outside, and it explodes into snow powder just about instantly.

The average number is less than 2 (people who lost 1 or more legs). The same goes for arms and fingers.

The reason CDs contain more than 60 minutes of audio from the start was thanks to the CEO of Sony who wanted to fit the entire 9th Symphony of Ludwig van Beethoven on one CD.
