This game which we had heard about but seen nothing of finally got a trailer. Switch getting more exclusives this late in the game is a boon and a curse. Alas, I only really got my 3ds for smtIV so this is usual pattern I guess.


Good to see Lucifer right out in the open again. Also the guy at the end recreating that Michael Angelo painting with our protag seems like an aged up Naoki/true fiend which is hype XD.

Well, well, was wondering if and when this was going to show its face. They're also doing a HD remaster of SMT3: Nocturne. To be released spring 2021.


Sadly, I don't think it'll be "featuring Dante from the Devil May Cry series". Auspicious tho, was thinking about picking up a PS2 copy. Might get this instead if the price is ok.

Now, Atlus, since you've been doing a fair amount of ports and rereleases lately (Persona 4 Golden, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, this), would you kindly just do Persona 5 Royal, if you don't mind? PC would be nice. Or perhaps Switch. Should be doable. P5R runs on the same engine as Catherine Full Body and that runs just fine on Switch. Or PS5, since I'll very likely get one anyway, or you know, make it backwards compatible. No, Atlus, my demands are not unreasonable.

They seem to be using the JP version of Lucifer's call as its base so they will have Raidou instead of Dante. Which is cool actually since the US version never got that version of nocturne.


But yeah I doubt they'll port p5r if they are making smt5 exclusive for the switch.

Maybe the systems can trade? XD

Shhhh, quiet you, don't you smash my dreams! But yeah, don't really see it happening either. Atlus seems rather intent on keeping Persona a Playstation series, while mainline SMT went to Nintendo post-PS2. Maybe, just maybe, a PC port, but PS5 is probably the most likely candidate to get P5R.

Atlus on a roll with the Persona brand it seems. 4.6mil combined sales for P5 (Royal), impressive numbers for a jrpg not named Final Fantasy or Pokemon. Probably close to a million for P4Golden on PC. Half a mil for Scramble, a pretty decent result for a musou spinoff.

I'm pretty hype, I can't deny. The art style looks like it's falling back to the more traditional designs, which would be pretty awesome for me. While a handful of the demon designs in SMT IV were superior to the original designs, many just felt out of place, and while the whole game *played* like a classic SMT game, the art made it not quite feel like one, all the same.

Also, the way the trailer was structured immediately put me in mind of Strange Journey... and stuff that reminds me of Strange Journey is good stuff, because that game is underrated as hell.

Yeah, I think you're right. It'd be great even just on a meme level, but probably isn't financially viable anymore. We'll probably get the MANIAX update version, with Raidou and Mokoi... or, given that modern Atlus won't stop squeezing blood from the Persona turnip, maybe Joker and Arsene.
