Only now the player becomes the terrorist and can't finish the game without senseless butchery if they forgot to turn these scenes off at the beginning of the game. If this is seriously a marketing standpoint for a game, then someone seriously screwed up.
Or, you know, if they forget to turn it off they could just reset the game. You can do that with games. They're not real life. They come with Reset buttons. Well, not anymore. These days they just come with a On/Off button, but they used to come with Reset buttons and they now have pseudo-reset buttons and soft-reset button combinations.

But my point still stands.

of the people who play this scene will probably enjoy this part more than any other game in history for the sheer unaltered sickness and uniqueness of the concept. By this standpoint, the next Call of Duty could be where you play as Nazi's, "just doing their job" slaughtering and conquering anyone not born with certain hair color or religious beliefs.
Playing a game to have fun? BASTARDS! Let's fucking tie them up and prod them with sharp sticks! NO FUN ALLOWED!

Or we could stop telling people how they should play their games. How's that for a plan? Are you telling me you don't get a bit of enjoyment when you plant a perfect sniper shot between the eyes of that Nazi bastard? Or when you mow down a couple of dozen innocent civilians in [any sandbox game ever]?

Yes I did just compare Activision to the Third Reich.
I hate Activision as much as the next guy but I believe in putting blame where it's due - this is not one such place.

I'd have thought he'd be pleased with the way the game will encourage kids to join the army.

U.K. Member of Parliament Keith Vaz says he is "absolutely shocked" by the violence in Modern Warfare 2 [http://modernwarfare2.infinityward.com/] and plans to raise his concerns about the game in Parliament.
Who cares what Keith Vaz says - he's a shit MP who's been trying to get game bans for years, and has so far failed to get anywhere, possibly due to the fact he was disgraced long before the rest of Parliament was.

Sadly, he's MP for Leicester, my nearest city :(.

Oh my God.

How DARE they try to make modern video gaming warfare realistic!
Yes, how could they advance in graphical technology? How could they? They've doomed us all.

That aside. I need a biscuit before all this controversy makes me pass out.

Quite so - and the only game I call being banned in the last 5 years or so was MAnhunt 2, which, lets be honest, was probably little more than murder porn...

News flash: No one voted for our Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The government was voted in under Tony Blair then under inexplicable circumstances he was replaced by Gordon Brown. We are actually due for an election soon but - get this - Brown is delaying it. He can delay it as long as he can dare to.
Uh, no.

That's not how it works. We elected the Labour Party, who elected Tony Blair as their leader. Tony Blair stepped down and the Labour Party (who we elected) then voted Gordon Brown in as their leader.

That's how it works, last I checked anyway.
I know that is how it works but put it this way:

The Labour party would NEVER have won if it had been lead by Gordon Brown, it's a classic bait and switch.

The labour party we elected is now NOTHING like the one we have today. Brown was even obliged to hold an election after seizing power but he did not hold an election quite simply because:

HE KNEW HE WOULD LOSE.

He knew he had NO CHANCE with democracy or consent of the people so is clinging on to power as long as possible and dragging the country down with him.

In all fairness, I can see why the government would have a problem with this game: terrorism is supposed to be, after all, the number #1 enemy of all governments. It's just a shame to see that, despite all the red tape Infinity Ward has included in their own game, that a small segment of virtual terrorism can still cause such a stir.
Oh, its not the government who have a problem - its Keith Vaz who has a problem. Parliament would only care if it got them more votes, and given even with Activison shafting us, its selling like crazy, I doubt it would.

Because people don't care about things they don't want to play. Hypocrites in other words.

Bait and switch? Seriously? Who couldn't see that Blair was going to step down midterm? Seriously, every sodding news channel wouldn't shut up about it.

Either way, I didn't vote Labour, so nevermind.

This seems similar to the case with Left 4 Dead 2 in Australia. There are massive flaws in this idiots argument and with him.

1) Its clearly labeled an 18. It is meant for ADULTS, not children. And if a kid really wants something so badly, he will find some way of getting it. There is no ammount of age raitings or warnings that can stop a parent buying the game and giviny it to their child,

2) IT'S A GAME. Are you killing anybody? No. All you are doing is pushing a button that causes a processor to spew out a CG image. Does it really matter?

3) UK politicians are older than stonehenge. They have trouble doing anything right. Because videogames are modern and alien to them, they will just find some way to criticize them. The UK is suppose to be a democracy. If it was a true democracy, then the politicians shouln't try and cause hell when it comes to entertainent. We work for them we pay our taxes so they can clean their private pools. I think that the public should be allowed to recreate the way we want seeing as we are all just Gordon Browns *****.

Please comment. I would like to hear your opinions.

Labour would have lost with Tony Blair as leader if he stayed on and called an election.

This, ladies and gentleman, is the awe inspiring force of nature intending to bring down MW2.
What IS it? Does it breed? Can it be killed?
I have good news in this regard. He is extremely vulnerable to pins. A single touch with one can cause him to deflate and fly away.

impossible. it seems that soccer moms in the UK and aliens have collaborated to create mass suicidal genocide amongst gamers under the age of 18 in the UK
