Should I buy these games?

So lately, I've gone completely tee-total when it comes to gaming. I'm saving up for a new self-build that is into the region of £1400, and will take me into march next year to buy, but I just found the Valkyria Chronicles and Bayonetta for the PS3 on Amazon for under £15 pounds each. I love RPGs and I am an avid fanboy of DMC, and find it superior to GoW in every way. I have £300 in the bank, and earn £30-36 a week. Should I do it?

P.S. I was charmed by Costume Quest, and have decided to buy it when it inevitably goes on sale.

I've not played Valkyria Chronicles but Bayonetta was quite underrated in my opinion. It has very cheesy, awful and, thus, hilarious dialogue and a ridiculous B-movie plot which made the cutscenes very enjoyable. The devs knew they couldn't make a decent story out of such a mental concept so they went for the funny, ridiculous plot instead, great move. The gameplay is incredibly fun, but the difficulty curve fluctuates so much. Nevertheless, the combat never gets dull and never relents. I'd say it's worth £15 but bear in mind that it's not very long (but then again most single-player action games fall in at 10 hours or less, so no surprise there)

Yes, get them both! Bayonetta is better on the 360 due to a few fps problems but they are both amazing games and Bayonetta is even better than DMC in the combat department (well my opinion anyway, even if the story is abysmal).

I believe demos are out for both in some regions, why not download the demos first if you have internet handy (which I'll assume you do) and check them out, if you enjoy both then yeah, that sounds like a good deal considering you can purchase them both for a single hours work. Personally I don't find those games to be particularly appealing, atleast not definitely not Bayonetta considering, as you said about GoW, that it will likely be DMC but less than. I also find it difficult to get through games without a nice drive in story/plot.

Once again though, 2 games for an hours work, not a bad deal so if you're interested go for it imo.

Hell yes. Valkyria Chronicles is utterly amazing, and Bayonetta is so damn good that it makes me never want to play DMC again.

I put 60 hours into Bayonetta. Did Normal and Hard. And lots of replaying levels just for fun. Only thing left is Infinite Climax. And collectibles. I still don't have even 3/4 of the maximum possible health. I need a lot of Angel Hearts still...

Dude, I'm 15 and work 6 hours a week (unfortunately, as there are no more shifts available.) I earn £6 pounds an hour =P. Also, you mis-interpreted my comment on GoW. I find that DMC is superior to Gow. Thanks for the comment though! =L

That's my bad on the pay, I didn't misinterpret your comment about DMC though.

If you're 15 you don't really have much else to earn money for I assume, if you do then don't bother purchasing, if you don't then its still just a weeks work. (When you're 16/17 you might wanna start worrying about Uni/College though)

After prying myself off the sequel of Valkyria Chronicles on the PSP for tonight (god knows I'll get in a few more missions before I hit the hay) I would heartily recommend VS for the PS3 asap. At 11 quid as it currently stands, that is one hell of a bargain.

It's one of those games which is incredibly easy to get into to begin with but will show it's depth soon enough once you get sucked in, so it's not on either ends of the simple/complex scale as it finds a perfect balance. Although saying that, there are some missions that'll have you swearing but not in a bad-design unfair way, more like some missions take a bit more thought or aren't actually as complex as first made out to be

I'm worrying already... I'm so unnecessarily stressed out... =P The amount of hours I work is down to the job i have. They only need me for one or two days a week. When I turn 16 (and then 18), my pay will rise and I'll switch jobs, but still work in the same place... Its kinda odd, but ah well, I'm 15 and earning 6 pounds an hour, I know 25 year olds who earn less.

I wasn't critisizing your job, hell I think its great that a 15 year old has one. (truth be told I got mine at 17, that aside I only did odd jobs, some sales and gambling for money)

Personally I currently work only 8 hours a week excluding odd jobs due to university, right now I'm looking for a new job to get more hours my way. You could do the same, though as I said, you're 15, you don't really need all that much in the way of work/money imo except to better your CV and maybe get some cash to spend on games and the like.

I didn't mean for you to take it like that, I don't think you were criticizing it at all, just having a conversation. As I said in the OP, I'm saving up until around £1400 to self-build a pc. I've settled on the components, I now just need the money... here begins the waiting game... Generally I'm buying things that I will use in the longterm, for instance my new TV =]
