There's always Vamos from Dark Souls, a very grumpy blacksmith who wants to be left alone but warms up to you.

Only one that currently comes to mind (which has yet to be mentioned) is Baraggan Louisenbairn (AKA Espada #3) from Bleach... well, his "true" form anyhow.

I don't suppose that the drunken skeleton guardian from The Last Unicorn counts?

I thought he was cool.

EDIT: But not the butterfly- that guy was a hipster moron.

it's pretty horrible list since all the stuff you missed are write-ins. So I'm not going to include anything because it will be repeated

Well, we have quite a few here, however, I feel you all are missing a cartoon with an exclusively skeletal antagonist team. I am speaking of course of, "Skeleton Warriors". Look it up, your life will be incomplete without witnessing the cheese that the 90's has produced.

From Guacamelee, there's Carlos Calaca, the evil skeleton who was twisted by a deal with the devil, overthrew ol' el diablo, and now threatens both the worlds of the living and of the dead.

Unforgotten Realms Live has a race of Intelligent Skeletons with varying Personalities. Their race doesn't have a name though as they have just been revealed recently.

I'm ashamed no one mentions murrey the evil demonic skull from monkey island.
I also ashamed that you didn't mention Manuel "Manny" Calavera from Grim Fandango.

Also where is the love for Berzerk (in saying so a certain Berzerk fan hasn't posted a comment on here yet) since Skull Knight hasn't been mention until now http://berserk.wikia.com/wiki/Skull_Knight

Sounds fun! Let's do it.

First there's Jack Skellington. Big kahuna in Halloweentown.

Then there's Swarm, a Spider-Man villain. Nazi skeleton covered in bees. Creepy guy.
Kudo for mentioning that Marvel character but how can you missed out Ghost Rider or is he not a full on Skeleton? (I doubt anyone or even himself had became nude without the jacket or pant at one point in the story.)

Oh how can Skeletor be missing in the list too???

There also the film from last year "The Book of life" which is based on that Mexico festival Day of the Dead aka more skeletons to add into the list. Mainly the main character family are dead http://bookoflife.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_family_Sanchez Speaking of that festival, it remind me of this skeleton character from Mucha Lucha http://muchalucha.wikia.com/wiki/Calavera_Muerto

Lastly I guess I have to thanks to this Tumblr that I came to be awared of this 80's or 90's cartoon show called Skeleton Warriors. I shit you not, there was a cartoon about skeleton warriors even in my vast amount of 80's and 90's cartoon knowledge I never heard of it until recently!
Also op, you gonna have to look up the characters in that cartoon yourself.

Ah I almost forgot! There's Brook from the anime One Piece! http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Brook/Personality_and_Relationships

EDIT- I just remember Skull Boy from Ruby Gloom https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Gloom#Skull_Boy and Monster High has a skeletion girl aswell http://www.monsterhigh.com/en-gb/characters/skelita-calaveras .

EDIT 2- Oh there is also Chop Chop from Skylanders http://skylanders.wikia.com/wiki/Chop_Chop

How about Boni from the 1980s UK kids programme "Trapdoor"?

There was a fantastic computer game as well called "The Trap Door". I remember it well.

This is pushing the definition of the word Skeleton a little bit, he is mostly made up of bones, but you can't get a bigger personality than Raziel from the Legacy of Kain series.

Ok, that was hilarious, especially the Ask a Question Video.
But no, only original characters [skeletons I mean] list.
Is he the real Emperor of Warhammer 40K [I don't mean the satire version]?

Glad that someone mentioned the Pumpkin King already, my favourite skeletal fellow.

All of the other Fiends too, natch, but this one is the chattiest of them.

Also this one, in both his incarnations:
Let just not start yet with SMT universe yet. It have a lot of material to fill enough the list I have.

I don't think the last skeletons have any kind of personality to be in the list.
Vecna on the other hand [yep, joke] look promising.
