Secondly, if you're so offended don't buy the game... even in game it's not like the developer is holding a gun up to your head forcing you to marry a cat/lizard person.

Apes, monkeys and chimps do not possess sapience. As I said before:

If it acts human, talks human, moves human, is shaped human and looks human then it's probably human.
If it acts human, talks human, moves human and is shaped human then it's probably a human in a suit.

Khajit and Argonians are just humans in suits. They don't have any unique psychology. Beyond their skin, face and some minor quirky "look! They're different!" features, which don't really effect them in serious meaningful ways, they don't have any unique physiology.

Of course I didn't research it myself.
I just don't consider humans on anthropomorphic sentients to be beastiality.

These ratings are just a front, everybody knows that they're paper thin.
I'm 16, near 17 (in december) so i'm completely fine about this.

Actually,under the BBFC that's enough for the game to get banned in the UK.

I have no idea what the BBFC is supposed to be, but if it also condones bestiality, then it can rot in hell. This kind of sick shit should be prohibited from entertainment industries.

For the record, Mass Effect got an 18+ in Norway, and it had nothing to do with the "sex scenes", because, frankly, absolutely no-one cares about sex on TV, in video games or in movies, at least not in the same way that "you" do. Oh, and for the record, it's the law here as well.

It's the law that Mass Effect games be 18+ in Norway? I'm not sure if I should denounce that as fiddly or find it awesome that a government made Mass Effect specific legislation

A 15 rating is hardly worth making a thread for, just my opinion mind but honestly i dont care how it gets rated, as for this beastiality nonsense that i've seen popping up in several other threads i honestly think the people spouting this A: generaly have no idea what the term actualy means and B: are only claiming this to try and gain views because its taboo subject, anygame that truely condoend such a thing would be illegal in most contries because there are actual laws preventing the sale of such material, seriously grow up or atleast do some research before you make a fool of yourself.

Fifteen? That seems appropriate. I bought Oblivion with a "M rating" and I had thought about it. It said : " Seriously? Mature?".

I learned that it was for Teens before, but some mods caused an uproar and we got the Mature rating.

OT : Halo 3 got a 15, and that wasn't even bad. It seems you need to be pretty bad to get an 18 (excessive gore/very adult natured themes etc)

As for that, I agree, but unfortunately the US law was kinda tied up in a lot of other stuff, and if it was passed that we could legally enforce age limits, then it strips all gaming of its protection as 'art', and effectively reclassifies it in a category with pornography. (I could be entirely wrong here, feel free to correct me, but that's my understanding of it, I remember it being far more complicated than just 'legal age rating'.)

Actually, having a BBFC rating over here protects games as art. The BBFC (or British Board of Film Classification) clearly sees games alongside films in terms of regulation. Movies and films have long been recognised as an artform, and the BBFC's belief that games fall into the same category is at the very least a vote of confidence. I don't know how rating works over the pond but over here it is just as illegal for a 12 year old to watch a 15 rated film as it is for the same kid to play an 15 rated game. And surely for games to be held up to the same standards as other artforms is what gamers are after.

And say what you like, at least that gives the industry some protection when some fruit-loop decides to go psycho and it's discovered that he once owned a copy of Fuzzy's World of Miniature Space Golf.
