Actually, under the BBFC that's enough for the game to get banned in the UK.
I have no idea what the BBFC is supposed to be, but if it also condones bestiality, then it can rot in hell. This kind of sick shit should be prohibited from entertainment industries.

The fact that kids are saying: "Herp derp, it's okay to fuck animals in my video games!" is really disgusting.

Shame on you all.
The British Broadcast Film Classification is a bureaucratic censor board, they ban any content containing any form of bestiality and sexual violence. They fact they haven't banned it means there's no bestiality.

Dude you need to clam down. To kill your logic, we are animals.
Calm down? Okay, we are all animals, so bestiality doesn't exist, great logic there. Fur, scales, and human skin are all the same. Warm blood, cold blood, eggs, fetus, who's counting? There's a saying about things being a certain color on the inside... I won't say it, cause that's fucking sick too when mentioned in this context.

I guess you, and all the people who fight for these kinds of rights, are in the clear. I'm just a dude that finds these types of things disgusting. I guess me saying that is wrong.

Sorry to all you people out there who find this type of thing acceptable.

: P

/sarcasm.... you really killed my logic on this one! You animal!
Expect that we all behave the same, you as a prime example.

It seems like 'they' were right.... it does lead to these types of sick and disgusting life styles.
Can people stop getting Bestiality and Yiffing mixed up please? Thanks.

OT: Oblivion was a 15, hardly a surprise.

I'd suggest that in the Skyrim world, all these races are, on some level, only an extreme version of that lizard guy, or the guy who's turning himself into a cat, thru the use of tattoos and body modification.

Shagging him would be weird, sure, but not bestial.

Wasn't that basically the whole idea behind California's bill? If that was all that was behind it, and it probably wasn't, then it was a silly thing to get offended by.
As for that, I agree, but unfortunately the US law was kinda tied up in a lot of other stuff, and if it was passed that we could legally enforce age limits, then it strips all gaming of its protection as 'art', and effectively reclassifies it in a category with pornography. (I could be entirely wrong here, feel free to correct me, but that's my understanding of it, I remember it being far more complicated than just 'legal age rating'.)

That's more why we were up in arms, I think if in the US we could have had a legal age rating system without throwing away all of the rights video games should have, most gamers would be right behind it.

If nothing else, every time the media throw up a shitstorm about the next GTA or MW game, we can just go 'its rated 18, shut your stupid face, and tell your viewers to do some parenting...next!'

I bought Manhunt before the ban at about 10 years old, most shops don't care from what I've found. It's not the end of the world even if it is, get someone to buy it for you if underage or since you're 14 your parents will be buying it anyway just have them buy it online.

This shouldn't be an issue.

Wait, ESRB are only advisory? Does that mean a 12 year old kid in America would be able to purchase Grand Theft Auto?

That's pretty awesome. (Or not... I'm really not sure if I should be scared by that or not)

I don't think he means it like that.

The vibe I'm getting is that he's pissed that Argonians, and, Khajit have the same in-game romance potential as the other races. Thus implicated sex. Which he considers bestiality because their not entirely human.

But my personal opinion is that he has a stick way too far up his ass.

The level of the rating isn't what surprises me (because, yeah, Oblivion etc). What does surprise me is that it's a BBFC rating, 'cos that was meant to be replaced by PEGI (which we've been using for ages but is only advisory) as the legally enforceable rating system by... I think 'round about now actually, but certainly by the time Skyrim comes out.

I was about to mention this if games or films have violence in the uk they get a 15 certificate.Makes sence to me that is why oblivion got a 15 and why Skyrim will to.

yeah the old one was 15 too.

The parents don't care anyway, I had a man buy saints row for 6-8 yo boy once, I warned him what was in it and he was like "eh, s'ok I'll get it anyway" such blatant disregard for the childs impressionable age, theres frigging bongs in that game, that game will teach that kid how to smoke a friggin blunt ffs, kids should be given at least a little more innocence before they are exposed to that stuff.

I'm pretty sure you could actually smoke bongs in the first saints row, I know they made up a pretend drug that you smoked in blunts in the 2nd but im sure the first was bonafide weed. I know it's full of booze and hookers.

Nah, what made that law awful was that it was completely pointless and a waste of time since games already enjoy the highest compliance rating of any media in the US.

Meaning fewer kids are getting violent games than they are violent movies/tv shows/music/ect. It was a pointless law that just pissed away money that could have been spent on many other more important things.

That's why I was pissed off at it at least.

No, because stores follow the ESRB. And an employee that does sell a violent game to a minor will most likely be fired.

I think the main difference is the upgrade from moderate violence to strong violence. Although I will be interested to see why the upgrade, although for all I could know it could be upgraded to an increase of moral-panic thanks to the London Riots. It's hard to say if it'll be an improvement, something that makes the game worse or, quite possibly, so unnoticeable it's hard to tell why it's more violent.

The difference is that here films (and I think some music too) have ratings enforced by law, in the States they don't, as they come under freedom of speech as art. If games get rated when films aren't then you're saying they don't have freedom of speech.

OT: No offence, but these news posts seem a little redundant. If Skyrim was an 18 instead of a 15 (which Oblivion was too) then I could understand why the news room would post it.

I'm confused is to why this is news at all. I'm looking at my Oblivion box right now and can see the big shiny "15" written on the side.

Really... Honestly? THIS is newsworthy? I mean, honestly. This must be an incredibly slow news day. "THINGS ARE DIFFERENT OUTSIDE THE US!" For the record, Mass Effect got an 18+ in Norway, and it had nothing to do with the "sex scenes", because, frankly, absolutely no-one cares about sex on TV, in video games or in movies, at least not in the same way that "you" do. Oh, and for the record, it's the law here as well.

What beastiality?
All of the races are sentient.
Well, aside from mudcrabs, rats, wolves... I assume.
