In case you didn't read the title, this only works for xbox. It might work for other versions, but I have no idea since I found this by accident while playing Skyrim for my xbox. How it might work for other versions is beyond me.

Anyways, you know how waiting in Skyrim (or any Elder Scrolls game) is really boring? I find it especially bad in this game because I'll load up on swag to sell, go to a shop, sell everything I can, and the bastard runs out of gold. So I have to wait 2 days just for them to get their gold back. Really really boring =/
Well, today when I was selling my junk (freshly enchanted iron daggers), I decided some music would be nice to have while I waste time. So I entered in a wait time of 24 hours, pressed my xbox button (on the controller) and went to my music. While I was selecting a song, I realized I was hearing a fast clicking sound. I go back to my game (after about 5 seconds of time since I pressed "wait") and see that a day has gone by. I have somehow accelerated the wait time by 400%...

Here's how you do it:
1. Enter your wait time
2. Press A to actually wait
3. Immediately press your xbox button after you press A (the xbox menu may not pop right away, just be patient)
4. Wait in the xbox menu while you hear clickclickclickclick as hours go by in seconds.
5. Leave your xbox menu when you hear the clicking end

It is important to stay in your xbox menu while you wait, because if you leave the menu to go back to the game, the waiting time will go back to it's boring click...click...click...click... and there is no way to accelerate it again (for that waiting session, not permanently).
Again, this is only for the xbox version of Skyrim.

Feel free to share this tip with everyone you know, since I am sure we all hate waiting :D
It would be nice if you gave me credit though ;D

I just fast travel between Markarth and Riften, it takes over a day each way. Much faster and less annoying than that trick :)

But the load time when you fast travel is almost as bad as the normal time it takes to wait 24 hours =/

Umm... lol.

Seriously, did you just do that? Did you mean to do that? Well done, sir. I applaud you.

lol, I made sure to add that part because I found myself thinking "why didn't the xbox menu pop? maybe I didn't press it?" only to see the menu open then close right away, so I can enjoy a boring 24 hour wait in regular time.

Not even close really. Can't say I've ever done this anyways, I just sell what I can, store the rest, or travel between various merchants. I've never actually clicked "wait" for the sake of the game changing around me. Just makes things feel broken (more so) doing that.

After you're done selling, save it, kill the merchant and reload the save. He'll have all the money back. I don't know if this works with everyone, as I only do it to Lucan at the Riverwood Trader.
