Hello Escapists,

I am currently on 73 hours without any form of sleep whatsoever. This isn't a willing choice its just no matter how long I lie there with my eyes closed I just don't sleep. I've made a list of symptoms and have started to tick them off...hopefully this ends soon. What are your experiences with sleep deprivation? Any major symptoms? Currently my worst are the occasional auditory hallucinations and paranoia.

Wish Me Luck,

Good luck

I've gone 36 hours without sleep. It caused nausea and anger for me.
Just reading this made me tired though.

I've recently been subject to extreme wakefulness at night, yesterday I went to sleep at 10am and the night before... and probably tonight as well...

I believe I have become Nocturnal, perhaps I should go out and play with other nighttime woodland creatures...

I can stay awake for 24 hours, and not eat for about the same, with no effects. However, any more, then the problems kick in. I get irritable, tired, and very lazy.

i was up for about 31 hours a few days ago when i had my graduation party.
The only noticeable effect i felt was that my thinking was slowed, meaning it took a bit longer for me to react.

Very emotional, lots of day dreaming, low reactions, dizziness, coldness and sometimes the deep blues. All that without ~30hours of sleep.

I went about 3 days without sleep once, and I got dizzy and started walking into things and it took me aboust 10 seconds after someone had finished talking to me for me to realise that they were actually talking to me.

I went to be and woke up like 26 or so hours later

I think at worst, it was just over 30 hours? I was unable to sleep through the whole night and eventually got sick of just lying there tryin to fall asleep and got up for a few hours.

I can never stay up for a full 24 hours... or longer. It's impossible for me. I think 21-22 is the worst I've ever not slept.

You don`t need luck to recover from this mate, your body will eventually give you the bird and you will sleep for about a day.

But I do wish you luck when dealing with the fallout of the 24hr nap. Some people just don`t understand what it means to be awake for that long

I regularly stay awake for over 24 hours, and my 'record' is almost 72...
On the whole my sleep schedule is pretty messed up, and I, for lack of a better term, abuse caffeine and Monster to the point where they have no real effect anymore.

Sometimes I intentionally stay awake to complete something, but more often than not I find myself incapable of sleep, and decide to go on my PC rather than lie in bed staring at the ceiling.

The worst I've ever experienced was a headache and slight dissociation, but then again as long as you have some caffeine or have something engaging to do at the least, it shouldn't be too bad/hard.

I've gone three days without sleep and that reduced me to nothing more than swearing profusely and not making any sense. Apparently I'm extremely hilarious then because I just go off on rants that make zero sense and go unprovoked, but then again these were told by friends so all I know I was probably being violent and was being lied too.

I will say it took my body forever to recover from lost sleep and I hated every moment of it, and I remember having very strange dreams.

I've never not slept at all during a night, at least an hour or 2, for example when we went to France on holiday by car.

Honestly I don't want to either, I already suffer from sleep deprivation since we moved to our new house. I can't remember a morning that I woke up feeling fresh. I certainly need 2-3 hours more sleep each night, and I won't get that for as long as I live here.

I wouldn't call it 'for the win' either, sleep deprivation can be lethal. Hell, my minor but constant sleep deprivation is already causing me to fuck up several things, notably driver's lessons. I'm never able to pay enough attention, I'm just too tired.

As for you OP, get yourself some sleeping meds or something. 73 Hours is getting dangerous.

Irritable, tired, and vary lazy, that's me all the time!

OT: I've gone 70+ on a military deployment. I ended up with bad nausea after about 30, but after that faded I was ok for awhile, and actually felt great. After about the 60th hour I experienced profound sluggishness, inability to concentrate, and after 70 I was getting heaps of auditory hallucinations before I was allowed to sleep.

I am now currently on about 86 hours without sleep. On the plus side I actually feel tired meaning I'm going to get to sleep at least for a while.

I stayed up for 56 hours straight once, idk what was wrong with me but i did it. But staying up for that long can be very detrimental to your health apparently. after three days if arrested you can be considered legally insane. and also after 2 (I think thats how long it is) your chances of developing Diabetes shoots up like 50%. So yeah I'd If I were you I would try and take something to help you sleep.

Well, there was a time where I woudln't be able to see depth any more. It was dusk, but I could still see everything clearly. I had to pay close attention to where I walked and I still managed to nearly trip and fall because I "missed" a hole that was about a foot in depth.
