Snowpiercer Trailer Puts You on the Train That Saved Humanity

Chris Evans stars in Joon-ho Bong's adaptation of the post-apocalyptic French graphic novel Le Transperceneige.

The first US trailer for director Joon-ho Bong's post-apocalyptic science fiction film Snowpiercer has arrived. The Snowpiercer is a large train that is home to the only survivors of a man-made apocalypse. The film stars Chris Evans with Ed Harris, Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton and Octavia Spencer. Snowpiercer was released in South Korea last August, and was featured at the 2014 Berlin Film Festival. The film will arrive in US theaters starting June 27, after its US debut on June 11 at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Snowpiercer is based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige by Jean-Marc Rochette. The science fiction story takes place on a post-apocalyptic Earth where an experiment to halt global warming causes a devastating ice age. Nearly all life on Earth is destroyed, with a pocket of humanity surviving on a massive train powered by a perpetual motion machine. A class system develops, dividing the elites at the front of the train from the poor inhabiting its tail. Chris Evans plays Curtis Everett, who leads the tail's rebellion.

Snowpiercer may be one of Evan's last films outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor has announced that once his contract with Marvel ends, he will be A Many Splintered Thing [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/133277-Captain-Americas-Chris-Evans-Ready-to-Leave-Acting-for-Directing][/I], also due out in 2014.

One wonders why it took so long to get a Western release if it was out in South Korea last bloody year.

Also Chris Evans really seems to like his trains.

HAHAHA oh god this is only being released now?

When I was in S.Korea last year, I saw this film and wondered why I hadn't seen any trailers in the Western world. But it's only being released now! Get your head out of your asses MPAA and do simultaneous releases.

The French trailer was the best. This looked like they were trying to make it look like Inception.

I really want to see this, i've loved all his movies so far and i've only heard positive things about this one. Too bad it only showed in danish cinemas for one day, but i guess it's better then the 0 showings we've had for Zero Theorem.

At least they are not meant to be cutting it now. The trade off is the distributor cracked a snit and will not be releasing it widely or giving it much promotion.

Did anyone else get a "Brink The Game" kind of vibe? Only without the Ambiguity of which side is good and which side is bad?
