Ok, the choice of movie was a little... odd, i would say, but here's my thing, When i was in high school, we watched movies all the time, We where allowed to, because they had something to do with the lesson, hell, we watched the MATRIX one time, and it tied into the lesson because the subject of the lesson was "The view we have on normal every day life" the lesson was about Neo, a man who lived his life like everyone else, breaking out of the norm, becoming something others viewed as odd, weird, stuff like that. im sure there where other movies that could have done that better, but this teacher i had knew that his students would like this better, and by god, everyone in the class got good grades on there papers because of it.
I was in ROTC too (Calm down anti military people, the only reason i say that is because the last time i said I was in ROTC here i got a crap load of hate by a very vocal group of people) our teacher, Sargent Norman, He was a bro tier teacher. He treated us like students, but also knew we where teens, and in a military like class, he talked to us like students AND how a soldier, this guy was one of my favorite teachers of all time, i remember, we where doing drills outside one day, and a army guy, could not have been older then 20, came up and talked to sarge about another ROTC teacher, after drills, one of my classmates asked Sarge what that was about, ill never forget what he said.
"He was just talking about his Sargent, yea, I might be an Ass, but that guy is an Asshole."
I laughed so hard, but it just goes to show the type of man he is, I tried to join Drill Team once, just to dick around, and he looked at me and started to laugh. "hehe, Yea, ive seen your grades." I know what you must be thinking, what a jerk right? But no, it did not feel like a teacher talking down to a student, or a Superior officer berating his Soldier, it felt like two friends talking, thats the type of guy he was, and He was one of the most respected teachers there.
