Never looked into STALKER much, elaborate?
Open world games set around Chernobyl and Pripyat. Very big, quite hard, often frightening and full of Russians.
I thought it would be Ukrainians?

Also I got over 250 games in steam sales and humble bundles since I got a new PC two years ago.

Well as the Brony's would say, welcome to the herd.

You have entered the world of endless game titles, cheap sale prices, and mods. You know what they say, once you go PC you never go back....wait..that didn't rhyme...damnit.

Thanks, though I'm keeping my sony and nintendo stuff around for the exclusive titles.

Hey, no need to be exclusive. Play what you want. I personally love all game systems, but its the PC i constantly keep coming back to.

As a general rule, I would recommend to look into the kind of genres that barely or not at all exist on consoles. Strategies, point-and-click adventures, MMOs, sims, etc. You might not like all of them, but you might like some of them.

Getting more pixels out of Skyrim, or more easily controlling Portal, might be relatively good reasons to smugly laugh at console gamers, but in the end, it's the entirely unique experiences that justify the PC platform.
Company of Heroes is amazing and I wish I had more time for it @__@ MMO's are not my bag, I like being in the same room as other players so I can hit them for being a dick.

But RTS, I'm up for some of that so long as it isn't boring like age of empires.

No need to bar oneself from the great games that exist on consoles, it's just that for strategy or fps the PC is the better format.

Not a cent, and that would me more than they deserve.

GoG, Humble Bundle, Indie Royale and Indie game stand have been mugging me repeatedly all month long. Pushing over 100$ in, which for one month and my entertainment budget is absolutely insane.

If you want to delve into the free-to-play fps stuff there's:
planetside 2(MMOFPS) and blacklight: retribution (regular FPS) and Hawken(Mech FPS) just went into open beta as well.

I think its fantastic myself. Remember a while ago when pc gaming was spelling all doom and gloom? so much for THAT! No more paying microsoft for keeping multiplayer hostage! no more overpriced eb games. Microsoft Arcade has been left in the dust and curb stomped due to them way overcharging developers on their arcade games and bullying of indy games.

I lost all respect for microsoft to the point where I won't even consider buying their next console.

To contribute in this thread also, I will post the Videogame Bundles some sites have. This binbles worth it, sometimes you can take like 6-7 for 5 dollars or less. Plus sometimes with the games you take awesome indie music :)
Here is the list:

B Indie Budle http://www.indiebundle.org/
Built a Bundle [Groupees] http://groupees.com
Bundle In A Box http://bundle-in-a-box.com/
Bundle Stars http://www.bundlestars.com/

Summer Batch http://www.summerbatch.co.uk/
The Indie Bundle http://theindiebundle.com/
The Humble Bundle http://www.humblebundle.com/

Most of them doesn't work, but if you search a little you can find good deals as I said.

Also a BIG winner is the Gala Store Beta site. You can buy games for Steam or DRM-Free VERY CHEAP.

For example, If you buy "Chaos on Deponia" in Steam, you will pay now 9,99 euro
http://store.steampowered.com/app/220740/
However if you buy it from Gala store NOW, you will pay only 6 euros
http://store.indiegala.com/index.php/adventure/chaos-on-deponia.html

Here is the site:

http://store.indiegala.com/index.php/

This have many good offers to buy, but you need to be patient and seach for new deals every now and then.

If you like you can see other sites with good offers to my thread I create:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.387688-Videogame-Database-Sites-Thread

I hope I helped ^^

You would think so, but mostly they're Russians.
You would think so and you would be right, they are actually Ukrainian, at least mostly. There is quite a mix in the zone though, Mercs are meant to be a mix of other cultures, mainly westerners.Ukrainian army is naturally Ukrainian. They all speak Ukrainian, Russian and Ukrainian are of course very similar.
