I have to throw my lot in with either that first picture you showed, or the Illusive Man style (even better if it glows)
The only other idea I can think of would be something unnerving, like the same iris as the other but with a different-coloured pupil than normal. Something like that would be deep in the uncanny valley, but it would take a while for people to figure out what's up.
Either that, or abandon the "eye" thing altogether. A smiley face would be fun, but kinda tacky. Maybe if you went with something classy like a power-symbol or a " + "

The flashlight idea's kinda cool, and it could be a simple USB charger.
I'd get it with a melon, then rotated 90 degrees, some cherries, then moving 90 again, a bell, then lastly, a Jackpot logo.
Just so I could put coins in my mouth, spin the eye in its socket then open my mouth.
Or have a few different designs on the same eye, so you can rotate it to fit your mood.
Most of all tho, I'd like to say congrats for being so damned optimistic about this.
Not nearly enough people lose a body part and thing 'Cool, this is my chance to personalise myself!' and I commend you, I think if I so much as lost a toe I'd sit indoors crying for about a week, so it's great to see such positivity.

If it were my own decision, I would get something with an Ouroboros (snake eating it's own tail) as it's the sign of Infinite.
