Yeah. If you dont know who he is, He's the ex bassist of Alice In Chains (Till 1993). He was also in the Sun Red Sun, but that was a much shorter venue. And he appeared on Celebrity Rehab, if you're into that "reality" stuff.

Not alot of word how he died, but so far its suspected of being a drug overdose.

So... Thoughts? Any other musicians you're sad died before their time (thats a weird phrase)?

When you talk about musicians that went before their time, Freddy Mercury is near the top of the list.

I felt kinda bad, but as he's not a member of the current AiC, I'm not shedding tears or nothin'. It's not as big a deal as when Layne died, tbh.

Now, I was really sad when James Brown died back in '06. Not before his time, as he lived long. But still sad.

And of course, Kurt Cobain died ahead of his time, too.

Shit. Most of the 90s grunge bands have suffered losses, haven't they?

Kirt Cobain died before he should've. Say what you want about his music ability you can't deny that Nivana has had a large impact on the music world. Paul Grey from Slipknot is another musician that's died recently too soon.

I don't really listen to AiC but my boyfriend does and he was upset by this news.

If you are a Nirvana fan you should give Alice in Chains a shot, listen to Jar of Flies (it's an EP, very short). After all, they both are from the same time, city and genre.

I'd easily elect Alice in Chains as better than Nirvana; naturally this is just my opinion, though.

I do plan to when I get a larger Ipod. I've heard a few songs and I like what I've heard.

Unless you want to count how they formed and that one show they did in Denmark, I would agree.

Their formation is depressing, but what's this about Denmark?

Kurt Cobain for me. I first heard his music when I was six because of my uncles and I still love it. He was a legend, and a guy that just couldnt handle it anymore

Why the double quote? Out of curiousity?

As to the accident, this one:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearl_Jam#Binaural_and_the_Roskilde_tragedy:_2000.E2.80.932001

<quote=Wikipedia>Pearl Jam's 2000 European tour ended in tragedy on June 30, with an accident at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark. Nine fans were crushed underfoot and suffocated to death in the crowd. After numerous requests from Festival officials to stop playing, the band finally stopped and tried to have the crowd step back but it was already too late. The two remaining dates of the tour were canceled and members of the band contemplated retiring after this event.[65] Pearl Jam was initially blamed for the accident, but was later cleared of responsibility.[66]
I knwo its wikipedia, but I some how dont think you can just lie about that then its on the Festival's page too
