So my PSP stopped reading discs..

I didnt have my PSP for too long.
While I was at floorball practice I put it on a shelf and when we were finished I found it on the floor. When I got home I tried to play a game on it and it didnt read it. So I tried with multiple other games, none worked.
Im wondering if any of you know a fix for it
Some of my friends said I should chip/flash it and im starting to consider it if I dont find a solution. Im also wondering if theres a way I can download games such as Castlevania Symphony of the Night for it (Otherwise just classic PS games..). So I can actually play something..

get custom firmware and download games instead =)

How do I do that? Does it cost anything? Is it legal? (Not that I care at this point)

its free, they're easy to download (pspiso.us), its illegal, but its pretty hard to do, i recommend finding a good guide, i got a friend to do mine...

but its definitely worth it

I would recommend getting a 16gig memory stick for it (I'll do it for mine when I can afford to) then downloading games directly from PSN.

There are alternatives like tweeking the firmware to play emulators but that's pretty difficult to do from what I've heard.
