Following disappointing returns for Batman Vs Superman: Ultimate Edition, Warner Bros. plans to release a never before seen G-Rated cut of the film to audiences in 2017. CEO Kevin Tsujihara has stated plans for a Batman Vs. Superman: Animated Edition and Batman Vs. Superman: The Musical are also in the pipeline. "We're going to keep at it until we find something the public responds to positively," a haggard Tsujihara said in interviews Wednesday. He would not comment directly to rumors of an all female-cast reboot of the controversial film, instead choosing to respond with a cagey "Nothing is off the table at this juncture".

Well, this pretty much sums up my reaction to the rumor in a nutshell

I'll leave it to you all to figure out whether my reaction is that of the kids or Nana Harley. :p

If true, I'm guessing WB has already tied their fiscal plan to the DC Cinematic Universe and with Dawn of Justice performing below their expectations, that pretty much put them in a no-win situation with this as the only salvageable option they see. Moral of the story: Diversify your assets.

How much are we willing to bet we actually see him brand people?
Is this a big issue for Batman? It's not a lethal injury, and he's never been afraid to seriously injure people to stop crime. Broken bones, broken limbs, internal damage, lost teeth, etc. Those are all fair game. But branding is "going too far" ?

I don't get it.
In the movie it is explained that when a criminal is branded by Batman he is immediately murdered by the other criminals because... reasons? Now in the movie it is not made clear whether he is aware of this consequence or not, but I find it silly to think that the "World's Greatest Detective" isn't able to put two and two together when the people he brands turn up dead, I think he just doesn't particularly care. So yeah, believe it or not, it actually is a lethal injury. I'd actually love to see the Joker brand people with Batman's mark to get rid of people while keeping his own hands clean.

I've already seen this movie. It is terrible. I really doubt there is anything in that extra half hour that manages to make the movie good.

Lois will still be useless and a bigger obstacle than any villain in the final fight. Wonder Woman will still be pointless in the film. Batman will still kill people, either directly, or indirectly. There will still be more dream sequences than Friday the 13th. And they'll still make the laughable claim that the city is empty now, because the workday is over. You know, because New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles are all empty after 9PM.

But maybe Superman will actually speak to Wonder Woman in this version.

Thanks, but no thanks. I was already iffy on seeing this version on video.

From what they've said, they're doing the opposite - Doubling down on their franchises (DC, Harry Potter, Lego), and cutting back on everything else.

So basically they're calling a do-over. Like a dude who cums too early, but still calls her back for a second date.
I think it's more like a guy that convinces you to go to his places for a nice night of loving, but on the way there has to go to three drug stores to get the 'right' condom, makes you sit on the couch while he 'romances' you with his 'sexy' dance, creepily sucks your toes for 15 minutes even though you're obviously not into it, takes 5 minutes to put that special condom on, blows his load after two strokes, insist you take a cab ride home right after but only shells out for Uber, then sends you a dick pick the next day and asks you to come over again, but maybe you should bring your sexy friend for a threesome this time.

But then maybe I'm just stretching a metaphor.

Nah thats the Super 3D R-cut release that they'll have in about three months. First a Super 3D cut, which is like 3D but Super! That'll be PG-13 though, so they'll rerelease the Super 3D a month later in an R-cut.
Are these released before or after the underground, black market, unrated snuff release where they have close ups of Batman castrating a child molester with bat shaped pliers and Superman uses his X-Ray vision to peep in on illegal rape clubs and jerks it for 20 minutes?

If i recall correctly only two known people have been branded by the bat but that was back before we knew as the audience he was okay with killing criminals in the streets so it's kind of a moot point in the aftermath of it all to Bruce or it should be at least... Why would Alfred even bring it up with concern if this Universe's Batman is already okay with killing people anyway?... gah more inconsistency in the writing.

I don't know. I wasn't bothered catching it the first time around, not sure I can be bothered with an R rated cut.

Choice is always good.
Basically, yes. And it might even give directors a little leeway.

I'm not sure what this sort of thing means for studios though.

So we see Batman actually taking the Kryptonite? We see the motivation behind Lex Luthor? Maybe less hypocrisy from both sides? Etc.

I mean, this cut gets released to clear stuff up, right? Make the wrongs right, no? I mean, since Batman and Superman act so much out of character through their destruction and the weird cuts, this R-rated version is what will fix all the killing now, isn't it?

And no, I have no problem with death. I have problems with stuff that makes no sense.

Per se, I have no problems with movies getting released with different ratings.

But what does WB want to accomplish here? I mean, I haven't seen it yet, but I doubt that the new version will fix the majority of the severe problems and there are so. goddamn. many of them.

I would totally watch that with my friends... before we still roast the shit out of it for not being the Bat of Steel Begins we hoped and dreamed about since Injustice...

Other than that, please be less than 8 bucks... I ain't playing more than 10 for this kind of shit...

What they hope to accomplish is to trick fanboys into spending more money so that their movie will be profitable. If they were already creating this cut for home video then this is basically a no lose situation for them financially. It shows just how little they think of their fans though.

"Rumors abound of WB executives being programmed to inject Grimdark aesthetics into every project, regardless of market analytics suggesting that the audience responds more positively to spirited summertime actioners balancing both adult considerations and dashes of humor. Local WB Exec, John Smith, was reached to comment these growing concerns. His response was to state, with a glazed stare, that 'only Grimdark would show the path'.

In other news, Kevin Tsujihara has been rumored to be financing the launch of several thousand high-altitude drones in order to block out the sun thanks to untested aerosol chemicals, and drench the Western hemisphere in perpetual atmospheric downpours. Tsujihara claims that 'all must experience the gift of Grimdark', when reached for comment."

If you thought Batman vs. Superman was a poorly scripted schlock trying desperately to piggy-back on Marvel's success, then just wait until you see the blatantly-copying-Deadpool version with even more scenes of your beloved childhood heroes brutally murdering people for zero reason!

Seriously. Unless they've managed to cut in some soul to the movie, this is nothing more than an attempt to get more money because everyone despised the original version. Being edgy and kool doesn't make up for a god-awful script and molass-like pacing.
