?Children are playing a game that encourages them to have sex with prostitutes and then murder them. This is a silent epidemic of media desensitisation that teaches kids it?s okay to diss people because they are a woman, they?re a different colour or they?re from a different place.
- Hillary Clinton
Now this quote is only a part of the whole. The whole speech of Hilary's is more talking about not exposing children to extreme violent and/or sexual content, because youth are more imporessionable based on things that they see or hear. Most kids who started smoking at an early age more than likely saw family/friends/celebrities/etc smoking nonchalantly, and being so brazen about it and not telling the child about the hazards of something like smoking, leaves the child to think that there's only benefits to be had with it.
Video games aren't much different to desensitize children, nowever i am on the side that video games shouldn't be the only thing to be placed on the guillotine in such a manner when we also have music, movies, and TV (animated or not) shows with just as much violence, sex, and poop jokes to make the FCC want to vomit in disgust.
OT:if you want a politician with the most reatrded of anti-video game quotes... in this case, it would be a former politician gone "rogue douchebag that noone really wants to associate with" Jack Thompson. Jack Thompson is a gold mine of childish stupidity when it comes to arguing any case. Its that kind of behavior that got him disbarred from practicing law in Floridia for 10 years, and he didn't learn his lession.... which lead him to being disbarred from practicing law throughout the US indefinately. His words are nothing more than childish ramblings with "sientific evidence" that he paid some MIT students to make some nice little Microsoft Office flowcharts or something of the sort to justify his arguements.
