Having just heard this song on the radio, it reminded me of something from my past:
See, when I was in high school, there was this other girl I was sorta friends with since we didn't hang out outside of school or anything. I tried to be nice to her, but she then started getting kinda aggressive and hostile towards me until she finally just let me have it. So yeah, not fun. Especially for a teenager.
Looking back, I admit that part of the problem was my fault for not doing anything about it like going to a teacher. The fact that I have autism doesn't help either. I hold no ill will towards her, though, like I said, part of it was my fault.
As for the song, it kinda reminds me how I tried to be nice, but it never worked out, so eventually I just had to let it go and move on. I say "eventually" since the whole ordeal left emotional scars that took a long time to heal. But as the song says:
"I can't help you fix yourself/But at least I can say I tried/I'm sorry but I gotta move on with my own life!"
So what songs bring up memories and emotions for you?
