At SDCC's Sonic Boom event, Sega confirmed Sonic Adventure 2 HD. Or as I like to call it, my childhood being awesome.

I can die happy now. It is my personal favorite Sonic game and one of the greatest games I have ever played. And now it will be in HD.

Will the fix the somewhat buggy controls? If not I think I will probably give this a pass. I can't even bring myself to get all the emblems on SA2B because of all the glitches in that game.

So yeah, the game needs a lot of fixing.

...and I probably won't be able to buy it anways because it probably won't either be on Wii or PC.

I never noticed a problem with the controls. Then again, I've been playing that since I was like, seven, so I may be used to it.

I never noticed a problem with the controls. Then again, I've been playing that since I was like, seven, so I may be used to it.
For example, when you play the game at 50hz (gotta love them PAL TVs back in the day) at random, the game would register a button input twice. This would cause Sonic/shadow to homing attack into nothing instead of jumping, it would cause tails/eggman to instantly hover when jumping (which isn't too bad since you get to jump a little higher) and knuckles/rouge would cling onto walls when you tried to jump off them (almost like in sonic 06). It would even double inputs when you try and name your chao, which was extra annoying.

That's the worst of it, there were other, smaller nuances that bugged me. You do get used to it (like timing and positioning the homing attack in a certain way to make sure it hits), but I have to admit, when I play the 3D stages in sonic generations, and then play SA2B, I don't have any second guesses as to which has the better control scheme.

Time for a snip of pace
The worst part (and it is very hard for me to chriticize my childhood) were the digging stages. Especially Mad Space.

But the music is also my personal favorite Sonic soundtrack.

Yes! I'm happy! I love that game so much, one of my favourite Sonic games. I hope the controls get fixed. I'm used to them, but they can be annoying, especially on the egg golem boss where you have to jump up it's back. Since the buttons register twice, it makes Sonic jump and then quickly jump in the other direction and he falls down to the sand. A HD version will be awesome and I can't wait!

I'd be more excited for this if I didn't already have Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for my Gamecube. Still it's nice to hear that the second one's being ported as well. :3
