Best of luck to them. Hope to see some decent competition resulting in both companies coming out stronger.

The 3DS is going to be the most awesome portable system EVER! It has such great graphics (so did the PSP), they ported actual CONSOLE games to it :O (isn't that one of the things you use to hate about the PSP?) and the 3D sounds just awesome! ('Any console that uses 3D is stupid because we don't need such a cheap gimmick. That is why the PS3 sucks and the Wii rules' weren't those you're exact words?)
It might be 250$ bucks, but it's very powerful so that makes it worth it! (Didn't you also say that superior hardware is not as important as a small price tag?)
That is basically a discussion I had with a co-worker a few weeks ago.
Now that the new PSP got announced his first comment was "Huh! No 3D? SONY SUCKS! =))". Does anyone else sense something wrong here? The sad part is that a LOT of people on a LOT of forums agree with him.
And people ask me why I think Nintendo Fanboys are hypocrites.
Maybe he meant 3D with glasses? I don't care for the glasses (I wear glasses normally and I don't like having to wear contacts to get the effect), but I'm excited to see how it looks without them.
Other than that, your co-worrker is a bit of a hypocrite (Of course, not all of us Nintendo diehards are). Better graphics are nice, but it should not be a priority for a handheld--works out nicely for me since I'd be playing them at home where I can make sure there's no glare and can recharge as soon as it is necesary, but it kind of sucks for people hoping for round-trip plane entertainment. My guess would be that Nintendo is altering its strategy since so many of the "hardcore" crowd won't go near their products.
I haven't been following the news of the PSP2 that much. Are there any rumors--or, better yet, confirmation--to a portable PSN to counter the 3DS's virtual console?
