It's pretty, and it's functional. I like it. If they decided to "fix" it you know they'd do something horrible.

This is good news. Anything else would probably suck. (At least to me it would.)

Guess people would rather explore options horizontally instead of vertically.
For some reason that sounds like a euphemism to me...

Finally... a company with a small splattering of sense o.o

I personally am one of those people that likes the current PS3/PSP interface (as its used on both systems). Having already found the theme I like and can live with (forget the name exactly, but it has girls and it has guns; always a winning combination :D), I'm perfectly content for things to stay as they are. Might even suggest that Sony keep the system for another console or two in the future o.o

Would be nice if you could customize it more beyond just placing custom icons here or there and a new background (I'd personally make the options more like the item selection screen from the first Mana games, with the selection wheel and all :3 that was good stuff), but for the most part its all good and fair.

ehh its alright, I think it's kind of bland though, a change would be nice
If you think it's bland I'd be more than happy to make you a custom PS3 theme.

On Topic: Good, I like the XMB as it is. Easy to use, easy to create custom themes.
Can you make me one?

I like the XMB and hope that it stays. I have the dancing skies theme now and its beautiful.

The XMB is one of the things that I like least about the PS3. I can never find what I'm looking for!

I love it when people have the ability to completely change something to their liking and still complain about it because they don't want to put out the 5 to 10 minutes of effort.

Honestly, how often does your average PS3 user use anything other than the right 4 options?

Friends, PSN, games, music (or is it pictures then music?). Do you regularly change things in the options? I don't see the point.

It's just like a browser. When PS3 had a browser, everyone asked if 360 was going to get a browser. By the same token, why does Sony have to do everything Microsoft does.

An by the same SAME token... if Sony wants to tout token advantages no one really cares about, Microsoft can play that game too.

good. the XMB works fine, theres no need to change it. Infact, I wouldn't complain if they continue to use it on their next gen consoles too (whenever their released)

Why do people even care about the interface? Isn't it the games that matter?

I preferred the origional xbox interface over the new one. And I have been extremely happy with the ps3 interface. It is nice going between a ps3 and psp and still having the same menu system.

There was also a comment about x vs y. The reason people like navigating on the x-axis instead of the y is because TV screens are wider than they are taller, making the navigation feel like it is a better fit.

I don't know. It was nice in the beginning but as time went on and the features mounted up, a revamp was sorely needed. The current one isn't too shabby, though some of the things need speeding up (the guide menu specifically).

From what I've gotten to play around with it, the default categorization in the menus needs better organizing but there's no need to get rid of the actual system behind it.

That's exactly what I was thinking.
I'm glad it's not a priority for them; there's way more important things to do.

Besides, I never have the xmb up for more than a few seconds before I start a game, and that's they way it should be.

good on sony for doing that, the new xbox experience is kinda stupid, i've seen both and honestly the xmb is superior.

the thing is i don't see how they could really improve it, the way the layout is couldn't work any other way and it might also be a bit more difficult to read
