Well, at the rate of the PS3 catching up, it'll only take 60-65 years to overcome the 360, provided Microsoft doesn't release a new console in 2-3 years.

Maybe some one should create some sort of petition before they make up their minds? To let them know of the displeasure before it's too late?
Like Left 4 Dead 2's petition?

Sorry, not paying for something that should be free. The idea that you'll give me things I may or may not want for a fee is absurd. I will pay for what I want and only what I want. If you require me to play PS3 games online and pay a fee, I will sell my PS3 and my games.

They do that and I'm selling my PS3. My only reason for owning the console just vanishes.

I'm glad I didn't switch to the PS3 now, the only selling point was a free online service. They still don't have any really significant exclusive titles so there is little point to defect to their service from Xbox Live.

On another note, is that picture photoshopped to make his face look a few inches lower or does he really have two foreheads?

I just find it funny that PS3's entire "we will beat the xbox" parade is because they will be around while the Xbox has moved on, developed another console, kept everything fresh. Nothing else :p

There was a difference there, Valve had already made up their minds on that one, PS isn't 100% sure...

It was worth a shot in that petition, it didn't work, but I'm sure we might have a chance with this one.

I'm sure they're just going to make a tier system or something along those lines, but given the fact that about 99% of my online gaming is done with XBL or on Steam, I'd have no problem with telling PSN to screw off if they come looking for a handout..

I don't own a PS3 so it wouldn't effect me. I have friends that have said if they were going to pay for a multiplayer service, it would be XBOX Live just because that has stood the test of time so far.

On a side note, anyone really believe that Sony is going to outsell MS at this rate? A few years and they are still several million away from catching them. He kept tossing up the "10 years" quote, but let me ask: Who will be buying PS3's in 10 years?

Sony might catch up on the fact that PS3's doing pretty well in Japan while 360's sales there are next to zero. Also if you counted out consoles bought to replace broken units the 360's sales numbers would take a bigger hit than PS3. Companies love throwing curveballs like that to make their stats look good.

I just bought a PS3, and part of the reason why was the free multiplayer. Given that the only game I'm playing online right now is MAG, I was content with PSN not being on the same level as XBOX Live. The thing is, if Sony is going to charge for PSN, then it better be as good as Live. It isn't. I won't pay for PSN, just on principle; when I was told that PSN was free, I accepted this. I'm not too cheap to pay for it, I just would have bought a 360 I had to pay for PSN, because Live is so much better.

Well... I better post this up before I say anything.

Now, I feel like PSN needs to be MASSIVELY upgraded before it charges for anything. XBL is so good because it's constantly upgraded, making it more user friendly. It seems like XBL is better for having fun and keeping in touch with friends. You and your friends can now watch movies together in an XBOX live party, it seems stupid, but the idea is actually quite neat!

I also found that PSN has a nasty habit of getting... overloaded I guess. Basically, it was hard as hell to get into a game on MW2 the first week or so it was out, and I have dynamite internet.

I don't mind PSN charging, but I feel like they will have to do a lot to catch up to XBL.

EDIT:: Also, by charging, PSN will only get better. Don't complaing about paying for something if it will only get BETTER.

I don't play on-line and I don't use Home. So this boils down to me paying for the privilege of shopping on-line and getting demos?

Thanks but no thanks.

Hmm...

1. I don't own a PS3 because I don't like the exclusives available nor do I like the controller.
2. I pay for Xbox Live Gold because it is worth it in my opinion to play with friends and such online. The quality stays relatively high because the money for Live is spent to maintain their quality.
3. PS3 will outsell the 360 in 10 years??? Microsoft will probably have moved 1 or 2 generations forward with their hardware by then. This is just like the argument that PS2s are still ahead of many things as they were still being produced recently. All this implies is a lack of faith in your abilities to develop future products.
