I didn't complain about the preinstall. I complained that a lot ot games had a preinstall AND pausing for loading. Won't lacking one only make the in-game loading that much worse?

I don't really see why Installs are a bad thing? They make the game run smoother and less stress is put on the disc. I mean we've already waited years for this game, what's a few more minutes?

5mb save for GoW3 ? how is that even possible. gow2 needed about 300k. (15 times more)
i think they just got lazy and put unnecessary data on save file.
This is how it's possible:
k = kilo = 1000
m = mega = 1000000
1MB = 1000000/1000 = 1000 KB
5MB = 5000 KB
300kb/5000kb = 16,6...67

GoW3 takes up 16-17 times more space than GoW2.
you has mad math skillz.

I personally like the idea of hard drive installs. Sure I have to initially wait 10-20 minutes when first using the game, but I avoid mush more than that with reduces loading times due to the presence of commonly used files on the HD. I think that it should be an option for all games.

I don't get why people are going "THIS MEANS THAT THERE'LL BE LONG LOADING SCREENS!", Uncharted 1 and 2 have absolutely no installs have a total of one, count 'em, one loading screen per start up and that's just to load the game up. Very rarely did you ever encounter an in-game load time, and at most it was 2 seconds.

So, I highly doubt God of War 3 will have any loading screens whatsoever considering the last two had insignificant loading screens also.

EDIT: And everything seems to be backwards to me.

Before people always complained "I don't want to have to install PS3 games! Plug n' Play doods!" though in this thread at least people are saying "I don't mind installs, what's the problem!"

What a koo-koo world...

I remember the good old days of deleting everything of my PS2 memory card on a week by week basis...

Still 5 MB isn't to much to ask
external HD go cheap for a big capacity its not that big of a deal. 5 MB has become a drop in the bucket now.

I guess thats cool but it doesn't matter to me that much and if there are horribly long loading screens then i will bypass that... incentive.

Upgrading a PS3 HDD is pretty easy and I doubt I'll ever have to worry about 5MB ever again. I think get with the install, loading screens midgame are a mood killer. Nothing fancy like a quicktime event loading screen - it could happen - just install the game and happy times. I hope it has the option.

Guess I'll find out when my pre-ordered copy turns up. Yes!
