As interesting as this is as a sign of Sony's desperation, I don't think it's going to be enough to sell 3DTVs. Too many people have only recently smacked down their dough for HDTVs, and they're not in a hurry to destroy their credit ratings just because someone in marketing is screaming that this is the technology that everyone wants to have (note that's marketing saying that, not research.)

When/if they get around to offering out-and-out pornography, that will probably be either the sign that the tech's time has come or the thing that finally gets units moving.

my favorite thing about sony? "Controversy... pfft, who cares, the worst it will mean is more publicity" not controversy for controversy's sake, but they never let it get in the way!

Considering a lot of news the new techs have been making: Kinect, Move, and 3DTV. This doesn't surprise me.
I like the swimsuit issue much as the next guy, but not sure if this is a direction I'd really want to go with it. Consider what will be put into the video to emphasize the 3D as all media does. If you want more porn to your SI Swimsuit montage, this is what you will want.

That was my thought. If the girl pictured is "half-naked", then I'm in my goddamned birthday suit...and I still have pants on.

Oooor Now I might be crazy here. You could just claim dibs on 3d pron and be done with it. Wooo we have swimsuits, counter well here there is no bathing suit coverage so you know actual 3d boobs.

Hmm, the cheapest 3DTVs are about £1,000. Or I could go to a local strip club and get 50 lap dances for the same money. Or I could just watch the strip shows, for which they charge each patron £1, and you only get a headache if you drink too many cocktails. Decisions, decisions . .
