maybe it's because of the fact that the Japanese realize what type of company m$ is and won't buy their products cause they make bad stuff? with the original xbox the controller and games were a huge issue, this time around it's the RROD and the lack of good games that is causing it.TPiddy said:You can't tell me that Sony doesn't have an unfair advantage in the Japanese market, whether it be through availability, pricing or through games and game developers. The 360 even put out a few good JRPG's and games that would appeal to your typical Japanese gamer like Blue Dragon, Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey, but it doesn't seem to take with them for some reason.
I just don't feel the Japanese have given it a fair chance. As for America, Sony was in the American market well before Xbox first came out, but it's been an uphill battle for Microsoft to get any of the Japanese market.
It says something about the console when the only place you beat your rival in is your home country.
actually the sales are tilted towards the PS3 in europe and always have been, the 360 has sold "more" because it's been out longer and that's the game they are playing. they say "oh we've sold X 360s in this area and we're way ahead of the PS3" but if you pay attention to the numbers and length of time both have been out, you'll see where the sale slant actually lies. so 27 million 360 in 36 months isn't as good as 25 million PS3s in 24 months, you can find sales stats for them on the web, do the math and you'd be surprisedasinann said:PS3 dominates in Japan, 360 dominates in North America (a much larger market) and in Europe sales are about even (still tilted towards the 360.)
Recent sales not withstanding, the PS3 doesn't have a large fan base outside of Japan.
The Wii is outselling both of them everywhere anyway, so neither of them is going to win the console war.
PC rules them all anyway since you want to play fanboi today.
Wow... "flame", "troll", "garbage" all in your post yet you accuse cleverly and I of trying to start flame wars?s69-5 said:Agree with cleverlymadeup.
Also, being an RPG fanatic, in my personal (read personal) opinion that 2 of the 3 you listed were garbage. Lost Odyssey was okay, not great, but okay. I agree with you that Valkyria Chronicles and Final Fantasy are far superior to the 360 games you mentionned.
Eternal Sonata is on PS3 as well and it bored me to tears.
Please don't turn this thread into another flame war TPiddy.
cleverlymadeup, using M$ in the place of MS or Microsoft is trolling and just asking to get flamed.

We all know that microsoft is gredy and only wants money. The stupidity of using m$ instead of ms is that Sony and every other company in the fucking world also just want money. Using m$ or $ony is just trolling on the same level as going "PS3hasnogaems", we all know it's pointless bullshit but it is inflamatory and distracts from the topic.TPiddy said:Wow... Nobody cares if he refers to MS by M$, nobody is going to defend a mega-corporation like Microsoft, especially against allegations that it's greedy. That's just a losing argument.
No, you ARE being a fanboy. The number of "good games" that are exclusive to the PS3 is so small it's almost non-existent. There are a few that you will scream are the "greatest evar" and in all honesty aren't all that much better in anything except graphics than a PS2 game.cleverlymadeup said:maybe it's because of the fact that the Japanese realize what type of company m$ is and won't buy their products cause they make bad stuff? with the original xbox the controller and games were a huge issue, this time around it's the RROD and the lack of good games that is causing it.TPiddy said:You can't tell me that Sony doesn't have an unfair advantage in the Japanese market, whether it be through availability, pricing or through games and game developers. it is also due to the fact that m$ doesn't tailor itself to the Japanese crowds. have you seen how many different versions of the PS and Nintendo lines that have been released there? they've got a ton of crazy bundles, special editions and various other things. the xbox and the 360 have had the exact same things that we've had
it's not an uphill battle, it's them trying to force feed their wares on everyone the same way and one whole market giving them the middle finger because the other companies are doing what they want to do

also the WII sales are starting to slip cause of lack of games and stuff for it. even in Japan the 2 biggest sellers at the moment are the DSi and the PS3
i'm not being a fanboy, i'm just stating facts for the amount of crap that people like to portray as the truth
*cough*That's because their greatest hits are better*cough*Monshroud said:I think he is right personally. Sony winning is the best for the industry. That industry being the Playstation industry of course...
Honestly, I don't see how Sony dominating the Market is good for me as a consumer. Expecially when their "Greatest Hits" games sell for $29.99, where MS and Nintendo sell theirs for $19.99.
