You are being far too optimistic, my friend. With Ubisoft at the helm, you can bet that UPlay is showing up in some shape or form.

But hey, at least Ubisoft doesn't allow you to buy your way through the game.

I think i'm done waiting for this fucking game. Seriously this is the 3rd delay! I understand that studio's change hands and projects get switched around, but honestly at this point, i've lost interest. I no longer care. I'm out. Plain and simple

On one hand: my wallet can stop crying for being abused too many times this year in video games...

On the other hand: Making crap is hard work, apparently... I should have known all along... DAMMIT! That pre-order I placed all them years ago is finally showing its age... That saddens me...

Nonetheless, as long as it doesn't take another 2 years, we'll be just fine for now...

Edit: Made a boo-boo...

"Within three weeks after acquiring the game, we sadly realized we had to turn this thing upside down if we hoped to deliver the experience everybody wanted," Ubisoft North America President Laurent Detoc explained. "It's been such a major overhaul to get to the point where we are that we couldn't let it go, even if that meant missing December."

What bullshit is this? Considering the creators of the show were working on it as well, I highly doubt that the game was in that bad of straights to not warrant the release 6 months ago. Its a side scrolling RPG for Christ's sake! I swear to GOD Ubisoft is fucking with it to make its worthless shit Uplay pass viable for it. They're fucking us over hard with this title release. I smell BULLSHIT.
The title's only been in production for just under 2 years (began in 2012), imo if anything it seems as if THQ were trying to rush this out for the holiday season in an attempt to retain viability.
Trey and Matt were writing the thing, but they might not have been informed of how much content the game at the time or been promised more than there actually was. Trey and Matt have a tonne of other responsibilities and can't play nanny for an entire game production.

In all, I thinks its pretty noble of Ubisoft to postpone it and shows that they care enough about the title to ensure its quality. If they really wanted they could have released an average game on brand credibility alone and it would've sold tonnes, the fact that they're allowing Obsidian the time to tune it shows a great deal of restraint.

A site said March 2014. There are two months I get presents in: December (Christmas) and March (birthday).

...I am surprisingly not fussed too much about this lol.

But ya, it's only been a few years. We're not at the level of eternal development hell like DNF. If they want to take a few months, let them have it.

Not gonna lie. was extremely skeptical of this game at first. scoffed at it even.

But after seeing that trailer.... it doesn't look that bad. Hell I'm not even much of a south park fan and I may pick it up.

The game looks incredible. I really hope it's as good as it looks in that trailer. The character interactions and animations look like I'm watching the show itself. I hope Ubisoft doesn't screw this up by making UPlay required to play it, as much as I want to play it, I'm sick of signing up to a million services just to play a single game.

Good lord, hasn't this game been delayed enough already? It was the last hope I had for anything interesting coming out between now and Christmas.

It probably would've been buried in the holiday season anyway.

Obsidian always seems to be hopelessly ambitious, their games aren't lazy, but they tend to overshoot and end up releasing buggy, incomplete games.

South Park games have almost all been awful (the N64 games - my god!). Then you have a game that has had a troubled development owing to the dissolution of THQ. All this doesn't add up to a promising game.

All that said the game looks great, it really seems to replicate the show and Matt & Trey's involvement is very encouraging, and for all their faults I've really enjoyed some of Obsidian's games. I will definitely be getting this game, but I think I'll hold off until the after the first major patch (which it will certainly need; wish I'd done that for Arkham Origins). I don't mind waiting a bit longer if it means the final product will be better, I've got plenty to do in the meantime, and there's far less the developer can fix post-release compared to pre-.

Pretty disappointed about the delay. Was just about to pre order it too.

Hopefully the delay is a good thing and the game turns out better for it. If they get the whole game looking like that trailer I'm going to be pretty happy when it finally comes out.

Ubisoft is probably going to fuck it up somehow...
How come? I didn't think they had a reputation for screwing things up.

Honestly, I think it's good that the game is pushed back until it's just right. I have high hopes for this game.

I hope they release this game on the newer platforms too in this case, as it'd be sad if sales fall down because everyone is focused on the new consoles' catalog.

I'm kind of curious about this. If the game comes out at some time and is good, but you don't play it because it's been delayed three times, aren't you losing out?

There's no great mystery. The answer is yes, he would be losing out. But I very much doubt Kyr Knightbane truly means he will avoid the game forever. There's such a thing as being melodramatic, especially when it involves game delays.

As for me, I have 20 years of great games to pick and choose from, since I firmly believe that 'retro' games hold their own to this day. So I never complain about delays. Right now I'm playing Suikoden I and II for the Playstation, State of Decay on Steam early-access and Kingdom Rush in my browser. Not all at once obviously, but it illustrates my point - there are other games out there. Be patient.

I have a huge back catalogue to get through, so I'm never short of a game to play either. Still, this was the only brand new game I was going to buy this whole year so I'm disappointed. The only other new things I want are XCOM Enemy Within, an expansion, and the HD rerelease of FFX.

Just watched the video again and I love it when the "Press B to skip" prompt appears right in the middle of Jimmy's stammer. Classic South Park.

So Obsidian is developing it, Ubisoft is publishing... and THQ was going out of business prior to the acquisition. The third part is most likely why it wasn't as far along as previously thought. Publishers provide the capital, which pays the development and marketing for the game. If the publisher doesn't have money to pay the dev's, do any of you think they will work on it for free? It probably sat on the back burner at low temp in Obsidian's offices with a note reading:
"We'll get to it when we get the funds."
If anyone thinks different I'd like to ask you if you would work for months on a project with no paycheck guarantee. I sure as hell wouldn't and any programmer, artist, QA team and creative team worth their weight wouldn't either. To expect anything else is a clear indication of ignorance.

No, don't they realise they are supposed to release it on time and sell as many copies before anyone realises it is a broken game, that's what the major publishers do. Lets get EA in on this!
