I'm pretty sure that the UK is part of Europe, guvnuh. No need to add it seperately.
I think he mean't to say EU as in all the countries that follow under the European Union which last I checked the UK was not part of the EU and have their own rules and guidelines they follow that may differ just like any other country would unless they are part of a coalition like the EU which as last I was told is a cluster F to put it lightly...
The UK is in the EU, the UK version of the game will be certified by PEGI so any censorship that PEGI dictate would apply here in the UK even if none of the British regulators insisted on it. If we still had the old system where the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) handled the legally enforceable age certification it wouldn't be censored the same as the other European versions unless the BBFC decided it needed any instead of getting us lumped with the same censorship and games where almost never censored or banned by the BBFC, I liked the old system better for other reasons too.

Having mature games labelled as "15" and "18" the exact same way with the exact same symbol as mature movies was clearer for parents than the little PEGI box and its weird symbols.

Speaking as an Australian: Welcome to the party. There's no food, no booze, and the stereo won't stop playing The Cure for some reason.
In other words, the most depressing party ever.
Where anal probing is not allowed... seriously, it's like the Government is afraid of people bumming each other (Governments anti-gay stance, herpy-derpy-doo).

Has anyone seen the syndicated version of "Red Hot Catholic Love"? They replace the mouth-pooping scenes with stock music and a bit of text. So there are doing the same thing here.

I think the censored version was funnier, but I get wanting the option to see both.

I also want to know what Ubisoft or whatever cut.

I'll be honest, I would love to see Stick of Truth Censored in the U.S. as well. It would crack me the hell up. It's my sincere hope the game will come with a Censored Audio track within the game so that I play the game like an episode of South Park with the bleeps intact. There's something funny about that tone that shouldn't be funny, but it is, and I love it.

As for this... I don't like Ubisoft just taking the easy way out of censoring a mature audience game, but if Trey and Matt can have a jab at Australia as well, I'd move there just to see the imagery, which I imagine will be hilarious.

o..............k Thats kinda weird and very lucky for me. In UK its all censored but NOT the pc. Holy crap batman that was close. I dont see the point if all other countries who are cutting stuff out have their consoles and even PC version censored.

Get Games is reporting that the PC version of the game will only be censored in Germany, Austria, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong & Taiwan.

...

It also appears that the censorship only applies to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, as the PC version will remain intact and uncensored.
Sad koala is confused. Is the Australian PC version uncensored or will it be?

In general, update takes precedence over original story (so, unfortunately, yes, the Australian PC version is censored)

PC aus version is censored. Will get censored if you buy it from GMG or GetGames etc.

Can get a US copy off Amazon digital or a RoW (Rest of World) copy off Nuuvem (basically just a Brazilian version of Green Man)which are both uncensored.

Ok, taking on the bets:
How many hours will it take until there will be a patch from "somewhere" that is "decensoring" the game (at least the PC version)?

I wish that at least in case of Germany people would stop calling it "censorship".

If the publisher decides to cut the content to avoid a higher rating and sell more copies then it is not censorship, it's their business decision.

Yes, the special hoops games have to jump through in Germany are retarded and we would be better off just adopting the PEGI-system.

But calling it "censorship" is misleading and over-dramatising. There is no censorship in Germany.

Now it makes sense. PC games are online now so its easy to sell a censored/uncensored version in those countries. I guess they see it as too expensive to do this via physical disks. Seems to me due to Austria/Germany all of Europe is screwed.

Still getting it, im sure there is more to the game than two abortions and 5 anal probing scenes.....unless thats the only reason people wanted to buy it. Then i guess get it on the PC. lol. Will get it on 360 just because i will be bored with it after i finish it and will sell it. Can always buy it cheap on steam near Christmas if i need to.

I just wanted to start to rant. But since I prefer PC's I work hard on not feeling superior.
Anyway, jokes aside, this is just stupid. I just checked, the PC version got an adult rating here in germany. I couldn't find one for the consoles, but they should get the same rating and censoring a game with an adult rating is pointless.

It sounds more like they want to lower the rating to sell the game to younger audiences that probably shouldn't play it even with the censorship.

Horay for being a Brit! Still I not too sure wheather to buy the game or not.

I'm not saying the game will suck, it's just that I've only watched South Park when it was first release and stop sometime after the film (and abit of other episodes after that) but since I've been watching PewDiePie preview on it, it look funny as hell despite I won't get the full references in it!

We are arguing semantics here, if a company changes its product to get it through ratings its censorship, its just the same as it failing classification and then having to change it it just costs less money.

As far as the pc version goes, well at this point the game has gone GM by now and the disks are off to be pressed so the content is there, in the PS3 and 360 versions they can force a patch to disable it, they can do the same thing on pc however if the content is there then its a trivial mater on pc to put it back in, on console not so much as you don't have access to the file system.

All hail the glorious PC gaming master race.

That's my point exactly... There have been only 25 games that have actually been banned in Germany since 1989. And besides foreign copies of games that had different, cut versions in Germany and were thus banned to keep uncut versions falling into children's hands accidentally those games on that list are gems like "Anti-******-Test", "Concentration Camp Simulator" etc. Those games aren't censored, they are banned because they violate German laws against inciting racial hatred. The UK and Scandinavia have laws like that, too.

The only other problem is that in Germany Nazi-symbols are only allowed in a educational and artistic context and the latter isn't associated with games. That is stupid, yes, but it's not an exclusivity to Germany.

Again, yes the special treatment Germany demands is stupid but it is not censorship.
