The strange vehicle sped down a dusty road, Tun-Dar gripping it's side for dear life. He saw the charges go off right next to his head, nearly deafening him permanently. He tried to think of what to do next, but the erratic steering of his engineer made him constantly grab for support.
"Will you control this blasted thing!" Tun-Dar yelled, knocking on the window on the back of the vehicle.
"I apologize, High Chief, but this thing is difficult to control" the engineer yelled back, arms jerking at each bump they hit.
Trying to ignore his acking back-side, Tun-Dar tried to think of a strategy. Let's see...we have little supplies, no Intel on our position, any native here will probably be hostile, and our blood-enemies are nearby with better vehicles, weapons, and more soldiers...shit
"You! Dae-See!Check if our fleet has arrived yet!" Tun-Dar said to the small female engineer. She immediately took out a small, square computer, and started pushing buttons on it.
"No sign of them yet sir, but..." she stammered, and as she read the rest of the information, her face went pale.
"What?! What is it?"
Dae-See looked up from her computer, terror stricken on her face. "We have at least 4 races near our location, one of them the Ladredas."
Tun-Dar swore under his breath, then out loud when they hit a large bump. "Is one of those the one Kalrafex controls?" he said after some thought.
Dae-See checked her computer again. "Yeah...yes, I believe so."
"Send a emergency signal to them and ask for a pick-up. Then direct our driver to them."
Tun-Dar said, wincing as another bump hit them.
"Yes High Chief. But...High Chief? That Kalrafex did not seem that trust-worthy. He was agreeing to work with the Ledrades, after all. What will we do if he does not help us?"
Tun-Dar stared into the horizon, lost in thought.
"High Chief?"
He turned to the young female, a look of deep sadness in his eyes. "Then...we must surrender."
