So i've been trying to get in to space shooter genre and i liked Black Prophecy, but...
Why is almost every single space shooter based on "WWII dogfights in space" gameplay.
I want to pilot a big ass space ship, witch game can give me that pleasure?
Seriously guys im tired of tiny fighters and looking for a game that will let me pilot a large space ship. please suggest something.

Also no EVE, that game is boring, more boring than street sweeper simulator.

Nexus: The Jupiter Incident - It's all about frigates, cruisers and such. Fighter ships are present, but they are mere cannon fodder. Gameplay is fun, the plot is solid, ships are cool. It's a much overlooked and underappreciated game.

Star Trek Klingon Academy and its predecessor, Starfleet Academy featured the larger starships of the Star Trek setting. Klingon Academy gets the feel of the big ships the best, in SFA the ships did handle more like fighters. Getting a legit copy of either these days would be tricky though, they're not on GoG or any other digital distributor yet, and getting them to work with modern hardware and OSes is also an issue. There is a fanmade patch that gets Klingon Academy working with Windows 7 and modern hardware, not sure if there is one for Starfleet Academy.

Homeworld is pretty good although getting on in age. But after a bit of research you'll have a few big ass ships at your disposal.
