Spidey Goes Cosmic with Shattered Dimensions DLC
Activision's first DLC pack for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is letting everyone's favorite wall crawler play dress-up, but not much else.
Gamers looking for some extra Spider-Man action in <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Spider-Man-Shattered-Dimensions-Xbox-360/dp/B003Z0LFJC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1288202824&sr=8-2>Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions can now purchase the game's first DLC pack on Xbox Live and will be able pick it up via the PlayStation Network next week. The good news is that the pack is cheap, selling for 240 MS Points or $2.99 on the PSN. The bad news is that it's pretty anemic in terms of content.
The pack includes <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Universe>Captain Universe costumes for all four versions of Spidey. There are also going to be some new charge attacks for players to access. However, if you bought Shattered Dimensions from GameStop, there's not really any point to buy the DLC, seeing as how the Captain Universe costume was the bonus content gamers received when they pre-ordered the game from the retail chain.
Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/8146-Review-Spider-Man-Shattered-Dimensions>earned three out of five stars from John Funk, which is OK, but not great. I'm not going to lie: I would have really liked to see a new dimension or an additional set of villains to face off against. For me, the game was alright, but it was a little too short and gameplay was a smidge too repetitive to really recommend it to my friends. Maybe Activision will offer some more meat for the game in the next DLC pack.
