Spidey Goes Cosmic with Shattered Dimensions DLC

Activision's first DLC pack for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is letting everyone's favorite wall crawler play dress-up, but not much else.

Gamers looking for some extra Spider-Man action in <a href=http://www.amazon.com/Spider-Man-Shattered-Dimensions-Xbox-360/dp/B003Z0LFJC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1288202824&sr=8-2>Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions can now purchase the game's first DLC pack on Xbox Live and will be able pick it up via the PlayStation Network next week. The good news is that the pack is cheap, selling for 240 MS Points or $2.99 on the PSN. The bad news is that it's pretty anemic in terms of content.

The pack includes <a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_Universe>Captain Universe costumes for all four versions of Spidey. There are also going to be some new charge attacks for players to access. However, if you bought Shattered Dimensions from GameStop, there's not really any point to buy the DLC, seeing as how the Captain Universe costume was the bonus content gamers received when they pre-ordered the game from the retail chain.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions <a href=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/reviews/8146-Review-Spider-Man-Shattered-Dimensions>earned three out of five stars from John Funk, which is OK, but not great. I'm not going to lie: I would have really liked to see a new dimension or an additional set of villains to face off against. For me, the game was alright, but it was a little too short and gameplay was a smidge too repetitive to really recommend it to my friends. Maybe Activision will offer some more meat for the game in the next DLC pack.

$3 for a skin change? And to a 10 issue run where you can't even throw adamantium webbing?

Ick.

Edit: Oh and the Captain Universe Powers only affect certain people, so the chance of all 4 Spidey's getting it would be astronomical. If Parker got those powers, he'd just win automatically - given he took down a Tri-Sentinel with them.

I think another publisher should have the license to spiderman games...so a different developer can make a great spidey game.

my friend and I rented it at the same time I rented MOH
to give Shattered Dimensions some credit, my friend never finished it because he was a bit busy one day or two, and I beat MOH in like two days plus go almost all the campaign achievements easily
Shattered Dimensions got too repetitive for my friend to bother finishing the last level the night before we returned it tho, so I guess maybe that was the final cut

Such a shame that another pointless DLC in the ocean of useless DLC comes out. I didn't even bother to get the in game alternate costumes so there is a snowball's chance in hell that I'm going to buy these alternate costumes. Hell I doubt I'll even pop the game into my 360 anytime soon as well, I breezed through it completing all the challenges (except the hidden spiders) in like 5 hours, really no point to go back.

There's over a hundred games at Gamespot, Many well worth the time and effort, that are between $3 and $5 dollars.

My question is, Is the game long enough to justify charging for different costumes?

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance might have been, but I'm not sure about Shattered Dimensions.

I can't judge people too harshly, I've bought TF2 items and I'm not proud of it.
