TL;DR
Will be written by John Wick writer, be two seasons with 16 episodes. No news on who will be the animators, though
Really?? We can get a likely to be obscure and forgotten anime (about an American operative, ironically,) but we can't get Splinter Cell 7 the video game?!? This fucking blows!!! What makes Splinter Cell enjoyable [to we fans of the franchise] is the game play; just watching anything remotely indicative of the game is going to be boring and pointless unless they do something very much unlike the game which isn't Splinter Cell, so who's this even for???

Yeah I want to say that I am excited to hear this news, but I feel like it is a half-granted wish. I mean ffs, blacklist feels like a lifetime ago, and the last we saw of Sam Fisher was that crap cameo in Wildlands

I’m a fan of Splinter Cell, and the idea of an anime with John Wick creatives behind it and with any luck getting Michael Ironsides back to voice Sam Fisher sounds like a jolly good time to me.

Then again, I thought all the games post-Chaos Theory were shite so make of that as you will.

Don't have a horse in this race, but I can't help but wonder why Splinter Cell, out of all Ubisoft's IPs. And suffice to say, Sam Fisher isn't John Wick.

Interesting. I mean I wasn't the fan of others, but I thought blacklist was pretty damn good

I'm not even remotely interested, but I do wish the whoever is behind in writing and directing, the best of luck.

Bizarre, but I'll take it. I'll watch anything these days.

But yeah, I do miss the Splinter Cell games. Stealth games in general actually.

Meh, if Splinter Cell, a once flagship Ubisoft franchise, hadn't been getting the shaft for 7 years now, I might be reasonably excited, but the thought of Ubisoft execs sitting in a room discussing a Splinter Cell project and it not be the next game boils my blood.

I agree (as do most) that Chaos Theory is the franchise's acme, but honestly, the worst thing about Blacklist is that Michael Ironside wasn't the voice of Sam Fisher. Everything else about that game is great. I think after the complete tonal shift of Double Agent, then the half-assed righting of the ship that was Conviction, dropping Ironside from Blacklist ensured that title was dead on arrival. Any faith within the fanbase had been strained too much, and the title's performance suffered for it as did Ubisoft's support for a "failing" franchise.

It sucks because you want the company to look at its own body of work, grab them by he nape and force their noses onto a copy of Chaos Theory and scream in their ear "You see that?!? JUST TO THAT AGAIN!!" Hell, I'm gagging even suggesting this, but I'd even take a Chaos Theory...*hurk*... Rema'haaa... REMASTER.

Literally anything but an actual game, eh Ubisoft? (Mobile trash does not count, I'll fight that to my bitter littered and graffiti'd grave)
And yeah, Blacklist was the serious high point, with only the omission of Ironside being the downside.

Well will you look at that, Beyond Good and Evil is getting a Netflix film. Once again, Ubisoft has no idea what to do with games no named Far Cry, Watch Dogs, or Assassin's Creed.

Lose 1d20 sanity points.
I really love the Splinter Cell games but if I'm honest the story has never really been anything of particular note and the action tends to be very subdued, when I read the books they also weren't anything special, so I don't get it, unless they're planning on going full-on action I don't see the point and even then if you go full-on action I feel like you will lose a lot of the fans, and if they're trying to pull off the tension of the stealth that's going to be a bit hard to accomplish.

To be honest I have no interest in a new Splinter Cell game, Ubisoft simply doesn't make that kind of game anymore and I don't care for Assassin's Creed but in modern times with NSA spies, which is basically what it would be with perhaps a little bit more emphasis on mobility, stealth and gadgets, if you ask me the franchise is better off dead at this point, though I won't deny that some of this might be my hatred for Ubisoft talking.

I mean if the franchise goes out with Blacklist at least it went out on a high note.

I understand. This video voices my mindset more exactly.
