Squanchtendo's First Game is VR Title Called "Accounting"

When the creator of Rick and Morty teams up with the guys behind The Stanley Parable, you know you're in for something weird.

Squanchtendo is not just a hilarious The Stanley Parable [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/tag/view/%20rick%20and%20morty].

The game is available right now [http://store.steampowered.com/app/518580/] on Steam. "The modern field of Accountancy is a serious and honorable profession. Many human beings have spent their lives toiling over the hard science of numbers. Thousands have died so that we may get to the level of understanding that we have today. Thousands have died. However, as Accountants and Numbersmiths embraced the abacus and the calculator, today we must embrace the latest technological advancement," wrote the developer on the game's product page.

If that sounds confusing, that's because it is. Even after watching the gameplay video I still can't figure out what Accounting is about. You seem to be a regular old accountant at the start, but at some point you put on VR goggles inside the simulation, which means you are in a simulation inside a simulation. Wubalubadubdub!

It certainly has that trademark weirdness from both of its auteurs, and i'm excited to see what the studio cooks up next.

Knew this was coming, but still great to hear about it.

And I know what I'll be playing this weekend, with what little free time I'll have, that is...

Dammit now I need to get my hands on some VR goggles. Gotta risk going blind for this.

My dad was an accountant once. He lost an arm and two fingers during the bloodbath of the Lehman Brothers back in '08.
Good to see a game paying tribute to the true hardships that accountants have to face.

This is the first time I've wanted VR and not immediately realized that I would regret the purchase. I hope they make a non VR version.

I looked at the screenshots
wondered why anybody would like it
then saw that it was made by the rick and morty guys
and now I know why people would like it

I mean
I don't "get" why people like rick and morty and by extension this
but y'know
different strokes for different folks
