Squeenix hates money. It's why they aren't remaking FFVII and why they don't have proper backwards compatability for both PS1 and PS2.

...wut? That's not Squeenix's fault. SONY were the ones that completely neglected PS2 backwards compatibility for the PS3 Slim's, etc. PS1 games are somehow fine though.

Personally, I loved the way enemies leveled to you. I fucking hated the romance angle, though.

I really liked FFVIII personally; FFVII is in fact my least favourite of the three PS1 FFs.

Where does 9 fit in? It's the top for me, of the PS1 games.

Nine gets the top spot, of course. =] My favourite game of all time, and my introduction to the series.

Shocker I know, but my favourite was 9. Though I don't think it needs to be remade.
I don't even know if I'd enjoy playing a remade 7. I think I'm sort of done with Final Fantasy, apart from occasionally re-playing 9.

Nine is shamefully neglected. It was my first and favourite, and is very different from all the others I've played.
Kuja and his fucked-up relationship with Zidane was great. =]

YAY! 9 was my first too. I think the style is just a lot more interesting. And all the characters are at least somewhat likeable. And I could never forget how awesome the Moogles are in it.

I agree. I loved 8, and in my opinion, it was the coolest and most fun of the series.

I'm with you guys, I'd really like to see a remake of 8 over anything else. It's the only one other than Tactics that I've wanted to replay (and have replayed several times).

Oddly, I really don't like Squall at all (he annoys me just as much as Cloud), but the rest of the cast is a lot of fun, particularly Zell, which I think is why I like the game so much.

I keep hearing talks of 7, 8 and 9, yet Sakaguchi's masterpiece starring the insane clown is forgotten. Where is our FF6 REMAKE (i.e. not a port)? All the previous final fantasy titles got one on the DS and the one that deserves the most recognition only gets ports? Really?

Why does everyone want them to remake it? Remakes are beyond pointless.

Why not take all the man power it takes to create modern graphics and actually create a good FF game again? I mean the games are still good, but nothing that generations to come will talk about. FF 10 was great but even now noone talks about it anymore.

So why not drop the useless fixiation on graphics and create an all out epic with good characters for a change and motivating story? Screw the graphics. I'd rather play another game a la FF6 then wait for a pretty, dynamically lit piece of shit.

Me too. My first FF was 8 and I was damn young back then. I played the English version back when I didn't speak a single word of English so you can imagine how much I stumbled through that game. Kind of glad now, because I replayed it and the romance story is well...eh, good thing I didn't understand it.

I loved Ipsen's Castle, in fact that whole sequence is awesome, until you get paired up with Quina for that boss battle.

If they did remake 7, I would preorder and/or be there at midnight for it. 8, I have it for PS1, and after trying really hard, I can't get into it. It is just so boring and lame compared to the others I have (7 on PSN, 10, 12, Crisis Core, Dissidia, Dirge of Cerberus).

I happen to disagree. I liked 8, but I prefer 9, 9 was awesome. 12 was particularly bad and don't get me started on X-2. I'm on a games course at uni and acording to everyone on the course with me, just saying it's name consitutes as swearing.

Love 9, would like a remake, 7, yes please, 8, ok, 10 I loved but i found it a little easy... I could go on but I won't. I still believe that a remake of 7 is unlikely because it's a way of keeping the fans interested in what the company is doing.
