I have wanted to buy this game for some time now but never really got around to it and had mostly forgot about it till now. I think i might go out and get it today

Should I play the game as-is or should I install the mod first?

I just read that they've announced Call of Pripyat Complete is in the works. I'm currently a good portion through that game (at least 2/3rds through I think), it's my first time in the STALKER world, and so far it's really great aside from some technical hiccups.
