Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game Now Has A Giant Transport

According to Fantasy Flight's Vice President of Communications Steve Horvath, "X-Wing is the bestselling game in the company's history. The game has apparently seen "tremendous growth" that Fantasy Flight expects to continue through this year. X-Wing uses the a dogfighting system similar to the one developed in popular World War I air combat game Wings of War, but adds a point-based squad construction and upgrade system as well as the everlasting appeal of Star Wars.

Editor's Note: An earlier version of this article implied that X-Wing was explicitly based on Wings of War. This has been clarified.

I am so happy this game is doing well.

I really wanted something like this to grow and expand.

Now for a Star Destroyer miniature :3
Christ the game is hard enough to play on regular tables, if we continue like this we're going to play on the freakin' floor.

Not that I'd complain though. I've only recently started playing this and while I failed horribly it's truly a ton of fun. I'm welcoming ships like that. Though, if I ever buy those miniatures myself, my wallet will probably not. Slave-1 was, apparently, already like ?20 or something if I remember correctly. Can't see those things go for less than ?40-50.

Was at a game night last night and I believe the store owner said something between 60 and 80 dollars US. for the big ones.

The prices are certainly high, yeah. The big ships like this are $60 USD, though they include a fighter alongside the big ship.

I've awaiting and dreading this for a while. Awaiting it because I've been getting at least 1 of each model in the game so far. Dreading it because of that price tag.

I'm really interested in the figures because I'm an old X-Wing and Tie Fighter dos game nut and everything but they're kiiinda pricy. ...I get why they're in kits and crap but damn I'd want all the wings and ties and crap.
