According to Starcraft 2's lead designer the game may head to Consoles (Move was demo'd at GDC using Starcraft). I doubt Blizzard will be the one's who do the actual porting one of Activison's other Studios will probably do that if it happens. Theoretically Kinect and Move could solve the control issues.

If this does actually happen I will be so deliriously happy that I will eat my own face.

The only issue with the game being ported is lack of keyboard and mouse support.
Warcraft 2 was on PSX as well.

The 360/Ps3 allready support keyboard and mouse, no one makes a game that actually uses them. That'd solve the control issue faster and more effectively then some motion controlled POS knock off from a POS motion controlled console.

Most people prefer to think that never happened though...
I actually liked it on the N64, you could select more units!

Aaaagh! Sudden returning memories of multiplayer Starcraft on the N64!

Stupid little screen! Stupid painful control stick! WHO NEEDS ADDITIONAL PYLONS!?! ME OR HIM?!?
I'M NOT EVEN PROTOSS, STOP TELLING ME THAT!

OT: Cool. The Starcraft 2 on consoles thing, that is, not the face eating thing. Sounds difficult.

That made me laugh way more than it probably should have.

No one would buy a console game that uses keyboard and mouse as for kinect controls think Minority report but with more Zerg Rush.

RTS games never port well to consoles, mainly due to the lack of keyboard support. There are just too many control options in RTS games to map to a controller, and the results are never pretty. Don't get me wrong, I love RTS games and have many for my PC, but the last RTS game I bought for my 360 was Command and Conquer 3 and believe me it didn't survive the cross-over. I'm looking forward to StarCraft 2 (even though I'll need to update my PC) but I'm not gonna hold my breath for a sucessful console port.

I think Mr Thin's already expressed my feelings toward the N64 game as well as I could have.

It was... bad. Being able to select more units just wasn't worth it.

I really would like to see how all those motion based controllers manage keyboard shortcuts. Have fun playing even semi-competitively without fluent use of control groups, ability shortcuts, building shortcuts, etc. Sure you can select and move around your units in fancy way, but i don't trust the technology enough yet to have the same response and precision mouse/keyboard offers.
