I don't think I'll be able to live past this year, due to the massive amounts of awesome it will be throwing at me.

Sorry but after MvC3 I really love shouting the lines, mainly Cap's and Doom's. I also became more interested with them as well.

Back on topic the trailer overall was very good. I do think pre Cap Steve looks more sickly than puny. And as for Cap using a gun I actually approved. I mean he is a soldier at war, it seems only appropriate he carries a firearm.

I was going to say "Final Justice" Oh well. I wonder if bob knew that "Stars and Stripes" was the name of cap's shoryuken like attack from the capcom fighters he was in.

Minor Pet Peeve: Were the Invaders solely an Anglo-American team? No other Allied nation members? Not one Canadian, Australian, Free French, Free Poles, nothing?

There were other teams in operation during WW2 based comics, such as black hawk and his squadron of elite pilots, who basically annihilated anything that was german and flew, they were made up of various european pilots at least one of which was polish. Wonder if they'll get a nod in the movie?

The original team had a half human- half Atlantean, Namor the Submariner and an android, the Human Torch. They retroactively added several other heroes, but I think they were overall pretty white, with the exception of Wolverine who was at the time Jim Howlett and a member of the Canadian special forces. Captain Canuck and Major Maple Leaf didn't come around till the 70's, I actually don't know any Australian Super heroes, though I wouldn't be surprised if that runs as a mini-series like they did with "Red, White, and Black" the story of the African American test subjects that pre-dated Steve Rodgers.

Comics are WEIRD.

They're DC and fight along side the Justice League. They guest stared in a time travel episode of "Justice League" though somehow some are still alive. Also that comic is shockingly racist by today's standards.

I'm more of a superhero movie, rather than comic book person (for the moment) and this looks a lot of fun.

However, it was weird to see a superhero use a gun. I guess I'm too used to the "hero can't kill people" style of superheroes. But a welcome change of pace nonetheless

I'm British, and I'm pretty anti-nationalist or even patriotic (Not just for this country, but in general), and I am bouncing off the walls waiting for this film.

Sorry, but it looks so damn good. Cap is a fantastic character. It's easy to sell him off as a patriotic figurehead, but he's so much more. The casting, the art direction, the storyline... it all just slots into place. It's gonna be awesome.

We have Thor out very soon, which, while it's first trailer lacked that certain something, managed to grab my attention with it's second one. And then Green Lantern, and it's going to be fascinating seeing DC try and push another of it's much misrepresented cast into the limelight. Is asking for a Flash or Martian Manhunter film too much to ask for? Wonder Woman is absolutely perfect film material, as is Green Arrow, but never gonna happen I think.

What Marvel studios have done with this Iron Man/Thor/Cap continuity is amazing. THESE are comic films. Everything that went before were just films about comic heroes.

Captain America is a champion of what America is supposed to be, not what it is. As shown in the Civil War arch and some other bits, he is not "America is always right".

Im looking forward to this.

I don't know how well these normally go over with your audience, but count me as one of the few who are genuinely disappointed when you do a trailer analysis for your weekly article. I really enjoy your insights into the industry or at least your opinions on the current state of affairs or politics surrounding a picture, so seeing one of these always lets me down.

As for Thor (I know you edited it) I reckon it could be good. I'm giving it a chance, although I wish they'd stop dumping Natalie Portman into every other film

Correct me if I'm wrong (Not really up on Marvel lore) but wasn't Nick fury also a potential candidate for the super soldier program that kind of worked but not as well as Steve Rogers? I could have sworn I'd heard of something like this, particularly in the Ultimate universe.

I showed my non-comic friend the trailer, and at the part with Red Skull, he was like "Holy ****! Did Agent Smith just pull off his own skin?"

And I said "Yeah, that's Red Skull's origin. One day he just pulled off his face to show what a badass he is."

You know the Nazi's did genuinely develop and test a flying wing stealth jet fighter, as well as designing a larger full-on intercontinental bomber version - however both lost funding and were scrapped as Germany was being pressed to hard on both fronts to spend the resources developing and manufacturing them. Computer tests by modern aeronautics experts have shown that if these two craft had been put into action by the nazis as planned then the UK and America would have had zero defence against them because of their superior speed and (for the time) unparalleled stealth abilities.
