I know, I know. "You're never the only one." But this time, it actually feels like I'm the only schmuck out there who bit the bullet and cancelled[footnote]Rather, I'm in the process of trying to.[/footnote] my Steam account rather than agree to the onerous new TOS?

Probably not the only one. I didn't cancel. I don't plan on throwing my money away at a class action lawsuit anytime soon anyway.

I've not looked over the new ToS extensivly (or at all) and I'm not sure I plan to. I might, but I expect it'll be the same old stuff that's usually there, with some clause about lawsuits - not that I plan to start one against Steam/Valve. Still might backup my games, just incase though, assuming that backup works better now than last time I tried it.

Er, I've invested far too much money into my Steam account to just throw it all away.

I've also hardly ever had a problem with Steam or how Valve runs their program. Go figure.

[sub]I always thought the TOS was that long, boring, wall of text that everybody immediately scrolled to the bottom of to click "Agree."[/sub]

I'm not a sleazy lawyer who makes money from class action lawsuits, so I couldn't care less about the change.

Since I never plan to sue Valve, no. It's part of the trade off for getting every single game for the last ~1.5 years for under $15. Once in a while I regret how much I've spent on Steam, and throwing it all away over this would be worse

OT: I doubt that anybody that use steam alot will, since it means forfeiting all of the games you have on the account.

This is over a class-action lawsuit issue? Weren't you people singing Valve and Steam's praises before? What the hell would you play a class-act FOR? It's much more vicious for everybody to hold together unofficially and slab your target with 15,000 individual cases that the company can't possibly cover in terms of manpower and devoted time.

But seriously, this is a board that mostly likes Valve and Steam. Are you expecting trouble because of this, that they'll suddenly turn evil?

I'm guessing that you're talking to me, so please read the topic fully and you will see that I said that I'm fine with it, I was just posting news.

WHY would you do that? You could just boycott and refuse to buy any more games... throwing away your collection... seems like something you'll regret.

Oh, well it seemed like it because you were talking about my thread in another thread(threadception), and it's fine.

And yes the only reason I made this comment is so I could say threadception xD

Sort of referencing both? I'm pointing out the fact that most companies do this anyway with the point that we've been crowning Valve king around here like crazy while smacking EA around like a bloated pinata (rightfully so). If you guys are largely satisfied with Valve and Steam, why does this actually worry you? I'm trying to prevent rampant paranoia.

Uh... why?

Were you planning on a lawsuit?

I agree that chucking away all the stuff you bought cause you don't like the TOS is just a waste.
The likelihood of me ever needing to sue Valve is miniscule enough for me to not give a crap about their TOS.

Your medal sir, for being the only one on the entirety of this earth to have an opinion no-one else holds.

OT: I don't like the new TOS, but I'll quite happily bite the bullet and retain my games. It doesn't affect me that much and TOS aren't worth the paper they're written on anyway, so I've never taken them too seriously.
