Mirrors Edge is 4 years old and they charge $20 regularly whereas Space Quest 1-3 (Space Quest III was released in 1989) is 23 years old and they still charge $10 normally. GoG's prices are not better than Steam's, if anything, GoG's are worse. Granted you get no DRM with GOG, which is why I try to patronize them whenever possible, but their prices are arguably higher considering the age of the games they sell.
Well thats sort of the point. GoG games SHOULD be more because intrinsically they come with more value than anything from steam.
Prices, I have to disagree after seeing things like the Lucius launch that had the game at the same base price, same percentage off, but the GOG version somehow still being 3$ less expensive than the steam version despite having more value.
From the directly comparable, from what I have seen GOG goes right head to head with steam on price. Look at the tons of Indie titles shared like FTL, or say something like ARMA 2.
Age does not intrinsically drop value, but having a base price for a 5 year old game like mirrors edge for 20$ is unreasonable when a new physical copy of it runs as high as 17$ and as low as 6$ on AZ.

bafrali, Yeah I get it, GoG does not have front line triple A titles like that. However go ahead and compare that to say a physical copy and you see steams prices are shit. Just go ahead and look at Fable 3 even compared to Steams own value. It is still 50$ base price, despite base MSRP being dropped to 40 and typical sale price dropping it to 20$ or less. Then compare this sales cost when it was 75% off, of 12.50, vs what it was this past july being 12.50 Plus all DLC, PLUS Fable TLC. Yet despite MSRP drop by 10$, steam reflects no such drop in value, and has even taken away value over the course of the last six months.

In short I stand by what I said. GOG sale > Steam sale. Doesnt mean they will have a 1/1 comparability rate. It means the offerings from GoG are vastly superior for what they are compared to the insanely lauded steam sale. Their sales are better because their offerings are better. Even if the products are not the same.
Look, yeah I badmouth steam, rightly so. However I know in prior years even during summer/winter sales most I ever dropped into a sale was 30$. Gog sale, im already 80$ in, and their sale still has roughly 2 weeks left to go.
