Steam Sale Bonanza: BioShock Triple pack or BioShock Infinite with Season Pass?

The question is in the title. For context, I have played BioShock and BioShock Infinite on the 360 already. I wouldn't mind replaying Infinite and I'm curious about the DLC. So the 15 euro deal for BS: I and Season Pass seems tempting. Then again, it's been years since I played the first and I never played the second, I hear it's a polarizing title. I won't be touching the multiplayer for that btw, although I assume those servers are either taking down or a ghosttown by now.

So basically what it comes down to, do I pay a bit more and play Infinite with the DLC, or do I play the whole trilogy where at least the second game is entirely new to me. I need your input! For the answer sake, disregard the 5 euro price difference (triple pack is 10) as I find both to be good deals anyway :)

Bioshock 2 was my favourite of the series, so I recommend the triple pack. It's like the first game, but with more options with how to handle situations. It's a much more feature complete sequel than most other modern games.

I'd get BS:I and the season pass. Sadly Bioshock and Bioshock 2 haven't aged well and the PC ports aren't terribly well done. You'd likely get more value out of Burial at Sea, even if it is a fairly short ride.

In my opinion, Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite are awesome, Bioshock 2 and Infinite's DLC are very disappointing.

You've already played the best stuff on 360, so I guess it depends how excited you are about replaying it with mouse and keyboard.

The triple pack is at a better discount than Infinite + DLC. If you decide you want it all, either now or when the deal closes, you will spend a lot less money overall if you get the triple pack.

In fact, getting the triple pack then the season pass is only slightly more expensive than just the Infinite + DLC pack. If you are willing to disregard the price difference between the triple pack and Infinite + DLC, I recommend disregarding the price difference between Infinite + DLC and getting everything. Just get everything, Triple pack first then the season pass.

Holy crap! At last, I've found someone that agrees with me. Though would you consider the story as good/better than the first?

I love BS2's story and Sofia Lamb makes for one hell of a perfectly evil (and very realistic) villain. And Minerva's Den was awesome. I consider that the third BioShock game. Inifite and it's hamfisted Twilight Zone narrative and CoD with particle effects gameplay can go screw itself.

Highly suggest getting the Season Pack and playing Burial at Sea if you've already played the first Bioshock. Even for its stupid alternate dimensions and time bullshit it pulls (like trying and failing to characterize Fitzroy), I cannot recommend Burial at Sea any higher if you've already done Bioshock 1.

I do think the story was on par with the first one, or even better. However, I don't think story's ever been the main draw in any of the Bioshock games. For me it's always been the gameplay and atmosphere, which the first two definitely do the best. The third game really was a mess for the most part, but it was still a bit of cheap fun while it lasted. It definitely doesn't leave a lasting impression like the second one though.

They all still hold up brilliantly too. Even the first one still looks and plays very well, especially on PC.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll go for the triple pack and play m in order. Should I ever manage to finish all three, I can justify getting the DLC because of the many hours put into it. To be fair, should I ever get so far there must have been a sale again. I'm just curious to dive into BS 2 and see whether I fall into the love it or hate it camp.

2 is a good story, the gameplay is just kind of shit. Whoever decided that the Big Sisters should be mandatory fights you couldn't avoid, and that they shouldn't be scaled to you in some way, needs their head examined.
