Specs would be useful, but the STALKER games are hell even on a good desktop. The engines are unoptomized, and a rig that should be able to play them with no problems can have severe issues. They're cheap enough that it might be worth the gamble, and they're fantastic games once you get them working, but being able to run Left 4 Dead isn't a guarantee you'll be able to play them with most of the graphics settings up. The nice thing is that it gives you almost complete control over tweaking the graphics, so you'll probably be able to find a nice balance. If you get one, I'd just get Shadow of Chernobyl first, great game, and if you can run it you shouldn't have problems with Call of Pripyat. They actually made the engine a bit more stable later, so Call of Pripyat should work fine if Shadow of Chernobyl does.Darth Rahu said:I picked up Cthulu saves the world and I'm at a toss up between checking out the STALKER games, or the Penumbra bundle. Any recommendations? Letting you know my laptop isn't the best graphically, but it can run Left 4 Dead.
As for Penumbra, I keep meaning to go back and finish it. It's a very creepy, atmospheric game and graphically less taxing than STALKER. Definitely worth a buy.
