What’s your damage so far?

I picked up The Quarry since I’ve always heard good things, and am in the mood for something like that this time of year.

I keep looking at Total Warhammer 3, it's reached my 50% off threshold, but do I really want to devote the kind of time it takes to conquer the whole of the Warhammer world?

I heard it's pretty fun, but CA tried to screw over the playerbase with overpriced DLC. They even tried to ban some people on steam for openly critiquing the game and the dlc implementations, and the PR guy said "The right to discuss is a privilege - it is not an entitlement you earn by playing the game." Which personally killed off any desire for me to get it.

Instead, I got:

MHW Iceborne for $16.36
Valkyria Chornicles and Valkyria Chronicles 4 for $14.91.
AND over on EGS, Alan Wake 2 for $29.60.

I don't think there's many people who actually play that way (it gets incredibly boring once you've won and your just painting) but they did try to bring some interesting wrinkle with some end game crisis (a bunch of massive army show up all over the map) and the new faction are pretty interesting. Plus some faction really take advantages of the massive world, like the wood elf which are able to teleport between far off settlement.

Probably will pick up RE4, I was thinking I'd get it once I finish dead space, but I'm falling behind...

In the "maybe I'll pick up category"

Grow: song of evertree, which seem like a 3D fantasy harvest moon.

Elex 2, hopefully kept the janx alive

Atomic heart maybe? Heard really mixed view of it but I love immersive sim and it seems like arkane studio won't really be making them anymore.

SD gundam battle alliance, almost certainly is terrible but I love me mech

coromon, there's been so many pokemon clone lately and I don't really know which one are worth picking up.

atlas fallen, ouch already 50% off...

Sprawl, FPS are very hit and miss for me.

Probably pick up one of the megaman battle network for nostalgia sake.

Mount and blade 2, didn't hear much about it after release.

Probably grab elden ring too, the franchise is moving away from what I like, but it doesn't mean I dislike them.

Remnant 2, first one was pretty decent.

It has been sitting on "mixed" on steam for quite some time, mainly due to dissatisfaction with CAs DLC practices.

My favourite review recently:

"The right to a positive review is a privilege.—it is not an entitlement you earn by making a game"

Not giving much of a shit about any of the new races doesn't help. They don't really carry that Warhammer nostalgia for me.

Yeah, to be fair I can't say I've done the whole map more than a couple of times. Usually just defeat all major opposition and leave the shattered remnants to cower forever in fear. Even getting to there on the standard mortal empires map is a giant time sink, let alone an expanded version.

They only got me with Half Life: Alyx, a Steam VR game. It was $20ish. I don't think I've seen it under $60 in about 4 years. After 4 years, it is still pretty much in a league of its own when it comes to graphics and I was worried my Meta Quest 3 would not be up to the task. Well, it does great. So far, very fun. Engaging story and characters. It is not a tech demo but an actual game. I recommend it.
