I sometimes wonder if I was playing the same game as everyone else. I found Lara's frequent self conversation lined up fairly well with what was going on, from the beginning when she's constantly voicing her fears, to the middle where she's mostly trying to pump herself up, to the final area, where she's two steps away from selling her soul to Khorne, screaming bloody murder and proclaiming how she's going to kill all you sons of bitches.votemarvel said:The Tomb Raider reboot was a game where its gameplay was heavily at odds with its story.
"Oh I can't do this" Lara cries for the umpteenth time after climbing up a mountain and brutally dispatching 15 men.
I also just don't see why old Lara could not have been used in the story. She'd be able to do everything new Lara does, just not whine about it all the time.
Yes, but what's the actual plot got on the power of memes?AccursedTheory said:I sometimes wonder if I was playing the same game as everyone else. Thanks, Dawkins.
Different strokes I suppose. All I can say is that I found that all the action did not line up with Lara's personality or dialogue.AccursedTheory said:I sometimes wonder if I was playing the same game as everyone else. I think it had problems but it definitely did not effect my enjoyment of the game and it actually made me like Lara which is something I never thought I would hear myself say as I despised the old Tomb Raider games. So yeah I am glad for the reboot as for the dialogue I feel it could have been stronger but I did enjoy her character arc.AccursedTheory said:I sometimes wonder if I was playing the same game as everyone else. There is some side exploring for collectibles but like all other games in the series it's linear.KingsGambit said:Isn't it just a linear game and hitting QTEs? All I saw/read/heard of it said it was just cutscene/QTE all the time.
