Yeah he just stays there with the ! over his head until you cave in and buy it. Or get rid of him. http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=236 Sadly I haven't seen a mod that lets you murder him because that was my first instinct. Maybe I should write one.

Hopefully I'll be getting Dragon Age: Origins for Christmas from my girlfriend (or will inevitably buy it afterward), but now I'll keep in mind finding a mod to kill him... Or make one afterward.

It would seem that I'm one of those people to get pissed off by this sort of thing. Let's hope it doesn't catch on.

I'm loving these Dragon Age comics each week. I like them more than the Left 4 Dead comics, and they were hilarious.

So very true. Seeing a "!" or a "?" or whatever immediately make me go right to them (unless I need to seek out a shop first, but then I head to the punctuation-y guy). This is a fantastic scam being run by these marketing guys. Good for them! I hope they don't make a penny!

It kinda reminds me of Killing Floor, where if you haven't bought the DLC, it has on the main menu a dirty big button that says "NEW DLC AVAILABLE".

That annoys me almost enough to buy the freakin' thing, even though it's just characters. Stupid sneaky game developers.

My console isn't connected to the internet, so that guy doesn't exist for me.

XD. You're all stuck with him. I do have the Shale quest guy though, but that's in an area I never need to go to.

It's just 1 more camp follower, with an exclamation mark.

Am I the only roleplayer here who has no difficulty ignoring him?

Heh, I didn't even realise that they had that ugly mark over their head. Good job I turned off quest markers before I started playing I guess.

Besides I've always found the markers lame and pathetic. Can't people even manage to figure out who to talk to anymore?

><! Taking advantage of gaming instinct for money; brilliant move. Shall we be suspect of every quest giver now? "Pay $1 for access to details."
But I can't mock since I did buy the expansion later on. Ironically, it was not to shut him up. It was youtube. The plate armor, o the plate armor! I so want that set that's green with gold eagle accents! Put images on youtube instead of an annoying quest guy, that'll get people to buy.

Makes me think "thanks for bying our game, would you like DLC with that?" they should include stuff thats finished before release anyway not make you pay for it. The saboteur did it.

I do wish Bioware had realised how much it cheapens the game experience they spent so much time and effort refining. It wipes a layer of polish right off. It's a beggars bowl for content that whilst useful is clearly incongruous to the plot.

I hope they aren't going to make a habit of this sort of crap because honestly, this has damaged their image, their standing, my view upon them and the credibility of their games.

No-one should buy this DLC. It sets an uncomfortable precedent. If we let them get away with cheapening the game we have bought like this, the boundary will only be pushed further. Before you know it, games you pay full price for will become like those free-to-play MMORPG's where you can 'get by' without the Premium content - which you blatantly need to do well.

When that happens, I'm never paying full price for such a game.

The consumers should speak now, by witholding their cash against such shameless commercial manuevers.

It's certainly £5 that they're never getting from me.

In my opinion the vast majority of the blame goes to the people with too much cash to throw away on any DLC they can get their mits on.
If it was upto me, the only DLC would be for existing games that have been out a long time, and still have a large fan base, to revamp an old game.
I've decided to start waiting of GOTY Editions of games now.
