"So it's amazingly faithful to the movies, is what I'm saying."

That was in serious need of a rimshot.

Happy 250th comic Shamus! I was expecting something a little more celebratory but this is good.

Well, yeah that's about right for Lego Multiplayer. At least he wasn't TRYING to kill Dr. Outdated, or we would have had some ... entertainment?

Then as the sequels wore on, the sense of wonder vanished. Pretty soon it lost the spark of magic and enthusiasm and became a routine cash-in with no heart.

Zing! Indeed.

And I sorta should have seen it coming, but I didn't.

OH MAH LAWD, have I ever missed this comic. I don't know why I'm saying this now, but Breen and the Combine soldier just brought that home for me.

So it's amazingly faithful to the movies, is what I'm saying.
Zing!

The Lego Star Wars series is an interesting beast. It began as something new, exciting, and unexpected. For a limited budget, developer Traveller's Tales was able to make something that could be enjoyed by adults and children alike. Then as the sequels wore on, the sense of wonder vanished. Pretty soon it lost the spark of magic and enthusiasm and became a routine cash-in with no heart.

So it's amazingly faithful to the movies, is what I'm saying.
Yeah, I can agree. By LEGO Batman, the fun factor had waned a bit and I was a lot more noticing of all the little gameplay problems that they still hadn't done anything to address yet. It also ended up being the last LEGO game I've played in a while. Maybe I should check some reviews on the newer games and see if they finally improved anything.

250 comics and these gmod ones are still great! Shamus, you, like me, are a good rag-doll poser. I just wanted to mention that.

might I add that the Star Wars films all still managed to remain mostly positive across the boards

however, apparently the same can't be said with the latest Lego Star Wars game...

To be fair to the series....the cutscene LEGO pantomime parodies are still fucking hilarious.

It's just the collect-a-thon gameplay that gets old after 2-3 games.

And the fact that only one or two random titles got online co-op.
