+1 on the flip-flop comment.

The most petty and inconsequential thing that annoys me is probably fan art in which characters are acting way out-of-character (see submissive/moe Satsuki Kiryuin, flip shit and riot). Somewhat applies to cosplayers who pose out-of-character but I usually don't care all that much unless it is an egregious example.
This leads into mine quite well.

Aside from being annoyed by 'fandoms' in general, with their shipping and their ideas of character sexuality being negotiable, and their gender swaps... there's one strange fandom that... aggravates me beyond all reason.

Superwholock. Google it. I'll wait.

It's especially painful because I love Supernatural, quite enjoy Doctor Who, and intend to get into Sherlock at some stage. And it's nonsensical. Two English BBC shows, and then... Supernatural. Just, randomly. And for such a weird, specific combination, it's ridiculously large.

All these bitches, taking the most fan servicing things they can find into one super retarded result... /rabble rabble.

Right before you gave your example, I thought about about this one online porn comic where Kim does NOT defeat the bad guy is instead gets raped and humiliated multiple times in front of her best friend Ron, her mother, and her two twin brothers... (And, I'm not going to lie, it was kinda hot...)
Oh shit I remember that! I agree that was pretty hot *_*

Ah Internet, will you ever run out of surprises?

OT: I suppose the many, many, many yaoi fanfics and fanarts that just don't make sense. I understand the concept of rabid fangirls but please restrain yourselves. Rivals /=/ secret lovers for fucks sake! GAH!

It enrages me when people snort really loudly to clear their sinuses. Also when people loudly hock up mucus. I can feel my blood boil when that happens.

It doesn't make my blood boil but even numbers of things really irritate me. That makes grocery shopping hard because I hate buying one of a thing, but buying two is equally bad and buying three or more makes no sense, so grocery shopping is always uncomfortable.

+1 on overzealous "fandom" people. There's things I love but I would never be part of a fandom. I can't even bring myself to watch Dr. Who, Sherlock, Supernatural, The Avengers, or MLP: FiM and that's completely thanks to the fandom morons on Tumblr.

Actually, recently I've gotten to the point where if I show courtesy while driving and the person doesn't wave I get annoyed. It's a bit backwards having done something altruistically but then expect something in return, but there you go. Even more recently I've taken to not letting assholes in. You know when you're at a traffic light, a left-turn lane (or right, whatever floats your boat) next to you and with parked cars on the left (or right) on the other side, you're the first in a line of cars in the centre lane going straight, and some ************ pulls up, the only car in the lane next to you, without their side indicator on, and you just KNOW that ************'s going to try to beat you to it, and then you see the crossways light go red, and the car next to you rolls a little as they release the brake in anticipation?

That's what gets my blood boiling, actually. That ************. And then you are either the bigger person and let them go, saving the hassle, or play their game and watch out the back as the next sucker lets them in, or, most satisfyingly, the whole line goes past smugly while they sit there looking stupid with their indicator on and their arm out the window trying to exert their non-existant rights to be let into the lane they could have waited and been in already.

Yeah, I've heard from quite a few different sources about the dickishness of Dr. Who fans. I've also heard plenty of people say what you just said. So, as a perfectly normal fan of Dr. Who, the fans who are jerks to people piss me off as well. I personally won't mention the show unless someone else mentions it to me. And if I heard someone say they don't like it, I say "It's certainly not for everyone" and move the fuck on. I guess I just wanted to assure you that some of us are not insufferable assholes, though I'm sure you know that.

On the same subject, I fucking hate it when people have to make up names for being a fan of something. "Gleek", "Lostie", "Whovian", "Trekkie", "Brony"...Whatever. It doesn't even matter if I like the show or not. As a matter of fact, I like quite a few of the shows I just mentioned. But I don't feel the need to make myself part of some kind of fucking club. I just LIKE a THING and leave it at that.

AND while I'm on the subject of ridiculous fandoms, I cannot stand it when people randomly insert fictional bits of slang into discussions that have FUCK ALL to do with what their referencing. Stuff like "bro hoof", instead of "bro fist" (a term people shouldn't be using anyway), "every pony" replacing "everybody", "frak" instead of "fuck"...You get the idea.[footnote]Yeah "bronies", I know I have two different MLP examples. You know what? Your fandom is notorious for this. Absolutely the worst offenders, no contest.[/footnote] Hell, even "gods" annoys me, because I just sort of assume it's a reference to something other than the speaker's polytheistic beliefs.

Although, in my defense of that last one, I sort of DO have a reason for hating it. Since people use these terms in conversations that have, once again, FUCK ALL to do with the thing they're referencing, it's just needlessly distracting. It almost comes off as if they want to change the subject so they can talk about their favorite goddamn show some more. But we aren't TALKING about that thing right now! FUCKING. FOCUS. ON THE MATTER. AT HAND. PLEASE.

*sigh* Well, this became a bit of a rant. Oh well. I suppose that's what this topic is for, right?

Ugh, definitely this. It's like people who tell inside jokes to you one-on-one when you weren't involved in any way in the joke and they expect you to find it funny. A friend keeps saying "Purple! Because aliens wear hats!" because it was an in-joke with a coworker I have never and will never meet and he expects me to think it's funny or cute. Hint: It's not. It just gets old really fast. Like, instantly. Same thing if someone insists on making dumbass fandom references to a fandom I'm not in and have zero interest in/knowledge of.

Just thinking of it is getting me irritated, heh. I'm too sensitive, I know this.

Mass Effect: Deception.

For those who are fortunate enough to not know, Deception is a "expanded universe" novel written by Willian C. Dietz. And it is the most offensive, incorrect, badly-written piece of shit I have ever read.

This book is a slap to the face to all Mass Effect fans. There are so many major lore inconsistencies that I suspect the author just watched part of a Let's Play before writing. Even the people who jumped in on Mass Effect 3 would know more about the ME universe than this guy.

And even mechanically the writing is bad! Deitz has not clue how to properly structure sentences and often breaks up his sentences. Into smaller ones. That are annoying. To read.

*Then* he systematically destroys the personalities of the characters present in the previous books. A homosexual guy is suddenly ogling asari, an extreme racist is happily chatting is up with an alien, a woman has two of her close friends killed, with her her only reaction being to scold the killer and an autistic girl apparently was never autistic, she just had an "attitude problem" growing up. That last one is especially galling to me, as I am on the autism spectrum.

In short, Mass Effect: Deception pisses me off beyond rationality and all copies of it should be ritualistically burned to remove the world of it's taint.

Whenever someone bitches about an upcoming remake, adaptation, dub, etc., and cites a single example as justification. I'm talking about people who bring up Dragonball Evolution or The Last Airbender when concerning an upcoming adaptation of an animated series, or cites 4kids as proof that dubs has and always will suck. Maybe I'm just open-minded and optimistic, but that just gets on my fucking nerves and I wanna smack those people. Yes, those movies suck, but what does that have to do with anything? All you've proven is that there has been bad adaptations, that doesn't exactly prove that every adaptation that follows will be just as bad.

And concerning Dragonball Evolution, the worst thing about that movie is the fact that it has Dragonball in the title. Take that away, and you get a forgettable sci-fi martial arts movie. Still bad, but it wouldn't nearly have gotten the vile hatred if it didn't have that title. And 4kids? When exactly was the last time you've heard from them?

This very well may be lingering misogyny from my younger years, but I fucking hate Kim Possible. I don't know why either. On paper, I should like it. An ordinary human being fighting bad guys? Just like batman right? NOPE!

I think my whole irritation with it is just how perfect she is. She has no tragic backstory. She doesn't have to train hard or struggle with her social life. Theres no real reason why she's pegged to be the hero and no one ever worries about her.

It's irrational to the point that I'd love to read a fanfic or something where the bad guy just goes all Fumbles on her...
Funny, there's a term that originates in fanfiction that describes the phenomenon you bring up exactly. A "Mary Sue" is an original character, usually female but not always, that has no difficulties or real flaws. They are somehow exceptionally skilled in whatever they do, are exotically beautiful and are never wrong. Nearly everyone loves them instantly and the ones that don't are always bad guys, no matter how logical their dislike. They never have to really struggle to do anything.

One small inconsistency is that Mary Sues often have some sort of tragic backstory that will almost inevitably devolve into wangst, if it wasn't already. But otherwise, Kim Possible matches the profile of a Mary Sue.

Nicolas Cage.

I don't know why, but his face makes me want to punch something. Preferably him. I really don't like his acting and hearing his voice sets me off on a rant.

I don't even think he's that bad of an actor, to be honest. It's just the way he does it. The way he says things. God damnit I wanna punch his squinty little face!

Simpering, over-familiar moralism.

Drives me fucking mad, it's so very patronising. Typically goes hand in hand with people who have to make it known how nice they are.

Protip: If you constantly feel the need to tell everyone how nice and helpful you are, I'm going to assume you're a psychopathic rapist who loves to peel the faces off of people, all while wearing a smile that doesn't quite reach your cold dead eyes.

I always feel a bit of anger rising in the back of my mind whenever someone invents new words by combining existing words. That's how we ended up with terrible terms as Kinectimals and Drivatar. Yesterday i was listenening a communications expert who kept using a word that was a combination of collegaue and business enemy (i can't for the life of me remember what it's called), it was a bit like frenemy only more rubbish: kongulega (the danish words Konkurrent and Kollega turned into a vetbal abomination). It just bugs the hell out of me, it's petty and irrational but it's just something i can't stand.

Strange and irrational...

Having a setting on an odd number. Volume, brightness, contrast, whatever; if it's set to an odd number, I feel a strange sense of annoyance cross my mind and need to bump it up/down to an even number.

Actual rage: Torn pages out of comic books. I just finished reading a manga earlier that had three ripped pages (one out of one scene and two out of another) and felt the need to punt someone through a window. Fucking vandal.

Gum popping. Not bubble blowing, but using the gum to make loud, obnoxious noises. I freaked out at someone at school over this once. Somewhat related is startling me repeatedly. Once or twice for the 'lulz' I can take, I realize I'm a jumpy person. I'm talking absolutely relentlessly, like there was no escape from it. I think the assholes who did this to me caused me some serious anxiety issues.

Honestly, this is going to petty, but this thing fits the spirit of this topic more than the two things listed above. The Xbone's existence and the fact that people support it has caused me a cartoonishly absurd amount of stress and anger, and has made me wish that industry would just kill itself out of stupidity on more than one occasion.

OT: Hypocrisy, particularly in political opinions. It irks me to no end that plenty of people on both ends of the political spectrum are perfectly happy to rest their arguments on certain principles such as 'rule of law', 'freedom of speech', 'the Constitution' when it benefits them and then throw those principles right out of the window when it doesn't suit them. If you're going to have principles, be consistent and stick to them. Actually, I suppose this isn't that strange, but it's just something I wanted to rant about for a while >.>

Then she should get a dog, or atleast a hot water bottle.

Sheesh, all these guys slaving away building rockets, being astronauts and Brad Pitt, and she won't even give them the time of day.

Freaking ungrateful...!
