Street Fighter Characters Dropkick the WWE

A WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 player has recreated many of Street Fighter's characters in the game with amazing detail.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 [http://www.amazon.com/Super-Street-Fighter-IV-Playstation-3/dp/B002TDIEEK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1293987905&sr=8-1] creator named Jimmy might be one of their weirdest and coolest usages yet. He's recreated many of Street Fighter's characters in the wrestling game, and it's quite a sight to see the iconic figures act like Macho Man Randy Savage.

All told, Jimmy created more than 20 Street Fighter characters using the SvR 2011 character creator, and they're just about perfect. I never thought I'd seen Akuma and Gouken or Ryu and Sagat hash out their differences in the wrestling ring, but that's exactly what's happening here.

Because of how good these characters look, it's somewhat strange to see them with such lifelike animation. Instead of firing off chi and attacking each other with hundred-hand slaps, they're shown engaging in various behaviors associated with the members of World Wrestling Entertainment.

However, Jimmy did add various move sets that are reminiscent of what Street Fighter's roster use in their own game, from basic attacks to special moves. M. Bison has a scissor kick, Sagat a tiger knee, Fei Long a three-punch combo, Zangeif a spinning piledriver, and Dan's special moves are rightfully hilarious (4:05 in the video). He's even included alternate costumes.

If the WWE actually featured Street Fighter characters, I think I would start watching wrestling again. Jimmy's characters can be downloaded into your version of SvR 2011 by following the instructions in his YouTube video information [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2qAipPGbkg].

I'm not into wrestling and not realy into street fighter either but that was pretty impressive. It must be a very versatile game to be able to do all of those things. Very entertaining.

Bit disappointed that Vega didn't jump off into the light rigs on the ceiling but they're all very well done.

I used to spend ages making people in the Smackdown character creator. Classics included: The Queen of England, The Incredible Hulk, Super Saiyan Goku, and the cast of The Matrix.

And this is why I stand by the statement that the WWF/E wrestling games are the best party games ever. You can make literally anyone :p

It's still fake! :D

That is quite a lineup. I don't know about more realistic as it more entered into Claymation territory with how the animations acted. But that does look like a fun party game. I dare them to enable Kinect with this.

Ouch.

I was loving the shredding on the streetfighter theme at the begining. A lot of work has gone into that.

Uh... good for him?

Pardon my cynicism. I'm not all that keen on "custom cosplays" or whatever the term is for that. Wasn't fond of it in SCIII/IV, not fond here.

Very impressive looking...though the permagrin on Deejay was a bit disturbing.

For some reason...I'm picturing the robustness of the creation tool making this game into the next MUGEN.

A Street fighter wrestling promotion would be awesome, but if you've ever seen how cheesey the special effects are in wrestling, you'd probably weep when they tried a Sonic Boom or any dfireball.
